I've gotten into mate over the past few months, and am enjoying it quite a bit. Can guayusa be prepared the same way, to be drunk from a gourd with a straw? Are there readily-available South American brands online, like pic related for mate? It seems a lot more obscure.

I bought a gourd a few months back and have been sipping the stuff near-daily. I like coffee but am more of a teafag. Picrel is my favorite of the half dozen mates I've tried so far (though frankly most are pretty similar to each other), it's nice and robust.
I like how mate is dirt-cheap and extremely easy to prepare.

Mate is piss-easy to get into if you're used to unsweetened tea. You'll start craving that deep maritime bitterness in no time.
