>but like my body is craving some nutrient or food source that it's missing. I just want to go out and eat some garbage processed food and meat. Is this normal?
I struggled with this. I spent about 10-12 months vegan. I hit the gym and the feeling of wasting away was getting really loud. I felt some weird kind of fear and I needed more than I was getting. Veganism is doable but we're probably 10-20 years behind where we need to be in our nutritional understanding. We're lacking too many micronutrients to swing this diet.

I often feel bad for giving up, but I was not healthy or okay.

Are there any ingredients or food you've been able to completely produce yourself and not need to buy from the grocery store?

For me, it's chili powder and dried chili peppers. Hoping in a few years I'll be able to increase my garlic crop enough to cover all my garlic needs for the year. I'm already enjoying fresh garlic scapes which are extremely seasonal.

Also, post what food you're growing this year.

Now this is super false flagging and shilling. Not only can my inferior animal friends form part of a society with me,but chances are they will form the bedrock of a more equitable and fair society than most of my human peers, even if I eat them. Horses, lambs, cows, and chickens and other client mammals and animals deserve a spot in my community way more than criminals, basic eaters, looters and joggers, and creditors.

How do you preserve your harvests so you can enjoy them in the dead of winter?

I usually grow more peppers than I can eat fresh, so I make powder, hot sauce, and freeze them.

What food are you growing this year?

Just harvested my first zucchinis of the year. Harvesting leafy greens for salads every few days and also picked a few small carrots. Still a month away from the first tomatoes and peppers.

What food have you eaten from your garden so far this year?

Had some radishes, turnips, and bok choy in spring. Now I'm harvesting kale, lettuce, and tons of arugula. Also some wild edibles.

Alright vegans. I go vegan for lent and I hate vegan food. It's awful. I love veggies but without meat or cheese every meal feels like a big side-dish. I struggle to get adequate protien even though I make sure I have some anywhere I can. I can never think of what to cook, because there are only like, 4 good vegan dishes. And every meal is unsatisfying.

Give me your best recipes and prove to me that this isn't a degrading and inferior way to live.

>not making your own hot sauce from fermented peppers from your garden
Enjoy paying top dollar for what literally just takes minutes of actual work. Also, you get to use your peppers for salads, poppers, and powders. I literally haven't bought chili powder in 3 or 4 years except for cheap cayenne powder to dust all around small vegetables to keep the rabbits away.

Protip: For a basic hot sauce, use ripe jalapenos or serranos as a base and add some hotter peppers like scotch bonnets or ghosts to kick up the heat.

I never see OrsaraRecipes mentioned here, but he's a sweet guy and I love his videos. First 3 I mentioned are great for actual cooking knowledge, the rest are simply kino.
