Trying to prepare lunches for work and I figure I should start with what protein I should center the meals on before I start grocery shopping. Ideally the proteins are affordable and easy to prepare. Currently I have:

>Salmon (Not sure which one)
>Chicken Thighs (more foolproof than chicken breast)
>Ground Beef
>Eggs
>Canned Tuna (mercury poisoning go brrt)
>Deli Meats (Probably the least healthiest but easily prepped)

Any other suggestions? After this will probably try to create or look for recipes around the deli-meat, ideally with only 3-5 ingredients at most. It'll be paired with rice or bread for my carbs.

A friend of mine just claimed that not only is Steamed Salmon a thing, but that it is a COMMON thing.

I would like confirmation on this and if it happens to be a thing, why would you steam Salmon instead of the other way of preparing it.
