Get inspired! watch some food network or some alton brown on youtube. If you see them cook something that looks like it would be easy, give it a try. If you can't be bothered to do that then you need to just start cooking, even if its just boxed stuff and then work your way up from there. Also learn to take a mental note of how different flavours taste. After awhile you'll learn to have some creativity in the kitchen using ingredients you think might taste good together.
