Bulleit Rye would be my choice for the same price.

Since you're obviously looking for just "whiskey" and looking at crown, don't bother with scotch. If you don't already know what you like, scotch will turn you off.

As for what's been suggested:
American honey or any honey: not whiskey, kill yourself
Woodford: very decent bourbon
Buffalo: Harsh for no reason, but decent
Turkey: (101 )Never a bad choice but not for beginners
Spiced anything: Kill yourself
Evans: decent if you already like bourbon
Scotch: again, shit for a newcomer. I love it, but I would not recommend to anyone new. It's a whole new world and OP obviously has no idea what he's getting in to. If you have to OP, get one that starts with Glen

Tl;DR: Get a bottle Crown, Bulleit Rye, Maker's, or Woodford. Put it on ice if you have to. No coke.
