We don't have much of a choice for hot sauces where I'm from. We do have what it looks like to be Sriracha and all the Tabascos.
I enjoyes the Sriracha, what Tabasco should I go for tho? Couple of years ago I had pic related but I wasn't that impressed with the taste, also happens to be their most hot one apparently at 7000 scoville

Hot sauce thread

This Isnt really meant as a cancerous general but I do have a genuine question

There's basically 3 classes of of hot sauces from my perspective.
LVL1
Tabasco tier stuff like louisiana,crystal,sriracha,tabasco etc.
Its "weak" to us pepperheads but still spicy and likeable

LVL2
Habanero(damn hot niqqa)stuff.
This level of heat seems to only utilize habanero peppers.
The peppers are about 100-300 SHU,but only the habanero peppers seem to be used in this class.
Its might be me,but the fruity?/zesty? character is appalling to me,
Why arent peppers like adjuma and madame jaenette peppers used more often for this lvl of hot sauce?

So my qestion is why habaneros so uber popular for typical"very" hot sauces?
There are peppers with similar heat levels the habanero,but different flavours.
The zesty,fruity flavour puts me off at least.

Looking for a hot sauce that's hotter than Habanero Tabasco but has similar sweet, fruity flavour. Any suggestions?

Honestly, I've never tried a sauce hotter than this. I don't see the point in sauces so hot they overshadow any flavor in the food, unless you're using a bit of it in a large recipe
