On a new diet recently and it's pretty easy to stick to. However, it recommends spinach a lot, and I like the idea because spinach ain't bad, it's healthy, and it's low in calories.

My biggest problem is that while it ain't bad, it's also far from good. What does /ck/ do to make spinach, particularly frozen or steamed spinach, taste great? I've been mixing beans in with mine but it's not ideal.

I'm also open to information on how best to have spinach. Fresh vs steamed, etc. My current stock is all frozen and needs microwaved. I dunno if there's anything wrong with that. It's more edible but I find fresh spinach to be more palatable, if that makes sense. Harder to gulp down fresh spinach but the slimy, stringiness and condensed flavor of other varieties can put me off sometimes.

Any tips on preparing this? I find myself eating a lot of spinach lately, I usually preheat the pan with some olive oil, then I add the spinach and cook it under the cover for a minute or two till it's nice and done. Is there anything I can improve upon?

Ex-vegan here

I went vegan 8 years ago. 3 years ago i suddenly wanted to try eggs, since i was becoming more athletic and desperately wanted to double my protein intake. Im still intolerant to milk, and it makes me nauseous, but ive found myself craving cheese OUT of Nowhere. Apparently i can eat higher quality cheese. I hated cheese mostly, and it made me sick, but my tastes seem to have changed.

Today i woke up, prepared an almond butter sandwhich with 1 red dried chili, an apple, a banana, and come cranberry juice...and some potato chips. it was afternoonish...

Through the day ive been eating fruit, and ..mostly fruit. I did manage to eat an entire bag of chips though.. 2400mg of sodium and 64g of fat.. im horrible with chips. Im super fit though so i pass it off like nothing. Plus the potassium from the juice and fruit balances it out, and the fact i drank plenty of water.

my typical breakfast is 5 semi-scrambled eggs with kale and spinach (i call it a green omlette), fruit of the day, and steel cut oats.

i guess a philosophy to think about is "do whats good for your body, and do it with a good conscience".

my favorite meat is smoked pork/turkey, and ribs, and crab...i have dreams about eating meat. Does that make me a bad vegetarian? lol

1Lb of kale
1Lb spinach
a bag of dried red chillies
30 radishes
2 small bags of baby carrots
container of oregano

I want to make something with maximum nutrition, but i dont want to eat it cold, cept the radishes, i like radishes.

I had the idea of making spinach soup...perhaps a spicy green bisque. or kale bisque with whole cooked spinach.

that actually gets me salivating lolol
