This guy explains it kinda better. Ase certs only have meaning to people outside the profession. Makes it all sound official to the customer.
If you mean about safety and emissions I'm dead serious at least here in PA. 2/32 for tires and brakes. All lights gotta work if they're still there. Exhaust can't leak, straps gotta all be there. Like most of this stuff even Stacy already knows about her car. Then shake down the suspension meaning literally grab a wheel and shake it feeling for play in the joints ie. Make sure the wheel isn't gonna fall off. Then there's some questions about how much trouble you get in for say illegally stickering a car/selling stickers and shit. And, when you take the test, the guy that "teaches" you all this gives you a "practice" test right before you take the real one (it's the real test, he gives you all the answers directly before you take the test) and I think it's open book even
