Yes. It's only pseudo-intellectual if you harbor an interest in maintaining your own cultural heritage. Harboring others is okay thought right? How long did it take you to adapt an entire other cultures mannerisms? Dreadlocks? Patchouli stench?

I don't eat McDonald's at all, let alone waste my time going to one in a foreign country. I eat indigenous cuisine, if I don't like it, I find something I'm more familiar with according to my western tastes.

I work for IBM and lived in China for 2 years unfortunately. Even there I was able to find "American" style Chinese food. Egg rolls and all.

Too much of China is stuck in the 16th century. The volume of ignorance there is staggering. They're also completely obsessed with American culture from a decade ago. Weird.
