>would love to try fair slop like a proper american
>local fairground is in a culturally enriched area and there are gang shootouts in the parking lot every year
It's not fair.

From my fairly limited d&d experience I've dealt with 2 kinds of annoying players.

The d&d is serious business kind:
>Absolute rulefag who never wants anyone to play creatively or have fun at all
>Obnoxiously strict about RP
>Refuses to cut anyone slack if they missed little details
>Wants to completely no-life the game and treat it like a job
Had a DM that wanted to meet on Sat and Sun every week and have 10 hour sessions both days, he saw nothing wrong with that and when the players said they had other shit they needed to do on the weekends he gave them the old, "well I guess you don't really want to play then." That group didn't last long.

The not at all serious kind:
>On their phone whenever not actively making a decision
>Zones out during anything other than combat and constantly needs refreshers
>Flaky and often shows up to sessions an hour or more late.

The worst is when both types are in the same group, sparks really fly then.

Why is it so hard to find players who are flexible and just want to enjoy the game?

When I was young my parents used to put on huge halloween block parties that would spill out into the street. Our house wasn't huge so they made use of every square foot, there was a mini trick or treat circuit where kids could stop at doors and windows and get candy, every year there was a haunted house maze made by hanging sheets from the rafters in our garage to make little claustrophobic corridors and they got adults to dress up and chase the kids through it. One year they even built a stage and got a band to play.
Shit was crazy and all the kids from the neighborhood thought it was fucking legendary, I even saw an old neighbor at a wedding recently and it was the first thing he mentioned to me, hadn't seen him in over 2 decades but he remembered.
Comfy Memories.
