I made this chicken soup tonight with a whole chicken in it, carcass and all, i didn't know the bones were gonna disintegrate i thought the meat would come off and i could take the carcass out

I made chicken soup but I didn't know you were supposed to take the meat off the chicken before you boil it for hours to make the broth so I put the whole chicken in.
It all cooked and fell apart now and I can't separate the bones. Is it OK to eat chicken bones if they're soft?
