That wasn't very nice. Did you even read my post? How am I wrong?

Walmart and other companies would be forced to raise wages without benefits, because as of now, the govt is helping Wallmart instead of poor people.

You don't know this because of no trips, but I'm >>11457195. I'm not against that.

>then increase the company tax to offset this?
That's a blanket action that would set back not only Wallmart, but also new companies, struggling companies, minority-run companies, companies that never started, and now never will, because of higher taxes etc. Of course, depending on the actual level of the tax rate, sometimes raising it is beneficial, but again IT IS NOT THAT SIMPLE. It literally never is.
Same goes for minimum wages. Mom and Pop stores have to pay that same as Wallmart. Universally raising labor costs across the nation/state has huge, overreaching effects, not just poor children getting fed.

I DO care about helping poor people, but that is exactly why I listen to people and keep an open mind, instead of clamoring for laws that sound good. If you want to help, you have to examine the results of you actions and stay humble. If you get all riled up and DEMAND minimum wage hikes, there's a good chance that when you turn out to be wrong, you'll sweep it under the rug, because it is preferable to admitting you fucked up.
