Ironically they cancelled Good Eats cause Alton kept pushing for more reddit tier "comedy" & skits with less focus on the food and techniques. (Well that and the proliferation of reality cooking shows.) If you compare the last few seasons with the rest of the earlier ones you see why the producers reigned his cringe in
