As someone else born entirely too late to enjoy the golden age of tiki and mostly got into it from pic related, you sound like a massive fag.

Tiki drinks are a shortcut to getting fucked up. Navy Grog and Zombie from pic related are two that immediately come to mind.

I've been making random drinks from pick related lately. Can't really go wrong if you like rum, there's only been one or two drinks so far I don't see myself revisiting that often. Planter's Punch is easy to make, Expedition and Formidable Dragon are two go-to's if I want a taller drink.

Based rum drinker. Stealing a line of thought from pic related, I think part of why rum doesn't really fall prey to that is because most people still view it as something you add to a drink rather than something you can drink by itself. Truth is as long as you avoid anything rail-tier or pre-spiced/flavored you can't really go wrong with rum.
