As long as you're not using one of those brands that has soap in the towels, already, I don't see that being a problem. I use paper towels, when I brew, and it doesn't taste any different from when I used to use a Cuisinart with high-end paper filters.

I percolate. Some people look down at it, but, once you figure out your ratios, it's phenomenal. Coffee is still piping hot when I pour and the percolating is super comfy.
