So every year I cook a turkey and I try to keep it fresh by cooking it differently every year but I'm bored of it and it never gets finished. I'm considering buying goose for Thanksgiving/Christmas this year. The only grocery store I can find it at sells whole ones for $65-$80. How does it taste? Is it worth it?

This. I far prefer the more traditional goose. It's a lovely bird, fatty and deep in flavour, almost impossible to roast dry.
