This thread is a perfect example of why brits should be range banned from /ck/ because they have nothing to offer from a culinary standpoint.

Here's what is wrong with British food:

The entire spectrum of British cuisine is reminiscent of what a 5 year old kid would eat. It's fried food, pastries filled with meat, mashed or pureed vegetables, and all of it excluding a couple things are completely devoid of any form of sharp flavoring. There are little to no spices. The sharpest flavor found in any British recipe is going to be vinegar, a component of more complex sauces rather than a fully composed sauce or dressing.

The types of ingredients exclusive to the British isles can be exotic, but exotic in a disgusting way. Worcestershire sauce is made from molded anchovies. Fried and jellied eels are made from a slimy and insect like creature.

The only exclusively British food that is somewhat decent is usually 'imported' (stolen) from other countries like Tea (China) Tikki Masala (India) Shwarma (middle east) etc. The rare exceptions are the Full English breakfast, a shotgunning of traditional breakfast foods on a plate so that at least a couple of those items are going to please someone, beef wellington, which is a pastry filled with meat; a steak poptart. Cheddar Cheese is another but this cheese is orange, oddly colored.

You eat with your eyes first and ALL british food looks pretty disgusting. Meat pies appear as balls of bread with brown juice staining the exterior, the food is often boiled, giving a grey and muted color, curry dishes literally look like feces, the ales and ciders are yellow, tan, and various colors of brown to 'compliment' the dishes. There is no bright reds or vibrant greens to stimulate the appetite. Even the malt vinegar is an off-shade of purple dosing tan fish-sticks and tan fried potatoes. The only color you'll find is pale green mushed up peas.

See, you Brits don't have any consideration into the composition of your food. Unlike the French or the Italians or the Germans that have a sauce that can stand on it's own, British food is literally X + Y and you call it a day.
