I watched 3 of these videos and then I hired a crew of 12 men to build me an outdoor fire and cooking space for 35,000 USD. I then went on a 4 month hiatus where I soul searched and wondered what I had been doing with my life. I spent most of that time at antique stores and in third world countries look for rustic cookware and oddly shaped gigantic heavy knives and tools. After 6 months and nearly $50,000 dollar I sat down to cook my first manly outdoor fired meal.

It was awful. Now I am in an existential crisis with no way to recoup any of the money I have spent and nothing to really show for it.

I hate Almazan Kitchen. It ruined my life.

Look man. No offense. If you like your vacuum bagged shitty dunkin donuts french vanilla roast coffee.. then by all means keep drinking it.

All I'm saying is that the shit you drink, no matter how you grind it, no matter how you introduce the water to that shitty grind from your inferior grinder, no matter what temp, no matter how long it steeps, no matter how much you prewet the filter paper - you are starting with shitty coffee that wasn't roasted fresh and was distributed on the backs of non temp controlled trucks over a matter of weeks or months and probably sat on a shelf at a store or a warehouse for some amount of time as well.

You can't vacuum all the air out of those bags, first off. Secondly, there is oxygen inside of the beans themselves as part of the structure of the beans and part of the chemical make up of the bean. Once the bean is roasted the newly formed volatile chemical components and organics that are susceptible to this oxygen have a time clock running - no matter what you do to the beans. Freeze... vacuum... no sunlight.... it doesn't matter.

You get 5 days. That's it. It's stale after that.

If you aren't roasting at home, no preparation method is going to save you and anyone with a mr. coffee at their disposal will outbrew you instantly because they started with fresh, deliciously recently roasted beans.

I don't even have to reference anything because this is just common sense in the coffee tasting and grading world.

No one that is serious about coffee buys it from a grocery store.

Now that we're done with you.. you can go back to your chemex and your foldgers supreme.

Enjoy it for what it is... if you like.. you don't need to be defensive about it. That's fine.. you like stale shitty coffee. Probably 95% of America is right there with you man. You have plenty of company. You don't need to come into /ck coffee threads and sperg them up with your shit posting.
