You people have no idea what kind of scale you're talking about. DuRr iT's AlL eMptY SpAce - you have to drive for hours to get through the amount of crops being grown. You're not going to fit that in a fucking building. Vertical farming is vaporware. Any setup that needs more infrastructure than just dirt and natural sunlight per individual plant will be more expensive than traditional farming.

Guess what, they already are automated. All the tractors are basically big robots. Still need farmers. You just don't run a system that complex without someone to look after it.
