Scotch varies wildly and it depends on what you like

An easy way to describe them is
Light-->Rich texture
Lighter flavours (Fruits, honey, etc)-->Heavy flavours (peat, pepper)

what do you usually like to drink?

I personally like peaty whisky, like lagavulin or talisker, but i understand thats not everyone's cup of tea

laphroaig (smokey)
Monkey shoulder (caramel)
glenmorangie (vanilla/floral, very delicate)
Or you could use a flavour map and use it while comparing prices in a supermarket. Most popular whiskys will have a price drop every once in a while, I just buy whatever is on sale.

Delicate and citrus. It says "elegant floral spirit" on the bottle and I'd agree with that.

I'm new to whisky so my taste will reflect that but I liked it better than The Famous Grouse and Jameson I tried before it. Also a bottle of Glenlivet but that was a few years ago so cant remember it well.

Another thing I've noticed with all whiskys is that they seem to taste much smoother a couple of weeks after the bottle was opened. Not sure If I've jut got used to the taste or if its a reaction to oxygen or something.

I find charts like this to be useful.

Post wasnt done yet --
But yeah Ive come across Bowmore and gave it some thought. I mainly went with Lagavulin in the op because of its placement in this chart. I dont think Ill be able to find any sample packs around cause we dont have much liquor stores nearby.

What would you say is the biggest difference between Bowmore, HP and Lagavulin?
