You may as well ask what the point of any seasoning, sauce or spice is. Yes, it's to make food taste spicy because some people like that flavor on certain foods.

I especially like it on fatty foods. The spice and vinegar is a perfect balance. In particular, a few dashes on some sunny side up eggs with runny yolk and some buttered toast is God tier.

I usually have an Asian style like Sriracha or sambal, an American style like tobasco or Crystal and s Mexican like Choloula or Tapatio. It is a wide enough range of spice and flavor and heat. I also like to have something Chipotle flavored on hand and something more garlic forward. I also have one I got as a gift that is one of those gag gifts that's stupid hot that I don't eat but keep as a gag or for when someone wants to prove how tough they think they are.
