If the one in my city is the standard, the point isn't "dump cereal, dump milk", but preparing special combinations that you usually don't do at home. Milks of many varieties, flavors and even colors, mixing cereals with certain fruit, candy or sweets, even putting pieces of waffle or Nutella, or stuff like that. On top of that, we Euros get to try certain stuff exclusive to the US.
