So, what's the deal with bourbon vs scotch?
I understand wars were declared after words like that, but I'm honestly curious. I've been sampling some whiskies, but they've been mostly scotch or irish. When it comes to bourbon, I've only tried Four Roses Yellow Label (nice and flowerly, but a bit thin. Who'd have guessed from the cheapest stuff they make?) and Woodford Reserve (neat and woody, but... boring)
It's not a fair comparison, but I find bourbon just not as interesting and flavourful as scotch. Are things like picrel or Four Roses Single Barrel worth it? I definitely don't ask just because Wild Turkey 101 is half the price of any decent scotch here.
