Huh. Well interesting. I was wrong.

The material development path is pretty interesting. I had an old clear one that cracked. I think it had a bluish tinge so it was probably a polycarb. The cracks didn't cause mechanical failure but they did propagate axially. I eventually tossed it.
What year did you buy it? Perhaps they've changed materials since then.
