It's all a question of utility, to be frank. Right now the meat substitute manufacturers are banking their entire profit lines on a few things:

1: Restaurant sales. This has the benefit of allowing people to try it as a novelty item and you can mask the price with the Restaurant Experience™. It's why Del Taco can sell impossible tacos and BK can sell Impossible whoppers, and burger joints their versions. Because you can still make a profit when the burger costs a heap more just from being sold at the burger place.
2: Rich people who want to be hip and trendy. They don't actually care about the environment. Aint no money in saving the world. But if it makes them look woke, they'll buy it.
3: Marketing. It's all on the novelty.

Eventually, the novelty will wear off, and the fake meat companies will have to shift their production and marketing strategy to something besides "look at shiny new trendy product." They will have to compete with actual meat. Since it's not real meat and never will be, the thing they will do is go for cost differential. AKA, they will race to the bottom. Since the base material for these is plants or cultured cells, they can eventually lower costs far below meat production, and we'll get fake meat selling at 2 USD/lb or something like that, while actual meat prices continue to rise. This will force low and middle income to buy plant based meat alternatives for protein, leaving meat as a treat for the rich, as it has always been through history.

> "Fuck you pleblord durr get a cast iron"
> "Enjoy your toxic shit."

Fucking hell man. Either answer the goddamned question or you losers can just up and fuck off to whatever shitty containment threads we have provisioned for you to echo chamber into. We get it, you prefer certain things, but get this, other people like other things. Grow the fuck up.

Anyway, OP, if you want Nonstick shit at a decent price, have you considered looking at Restuarant supply stores.

You can probably find a store in your city as well, and some are open to the public. Otherwise it's trivial to fake your way into one.

It's an excellent sandwich, well balanced, but avoid the non-spicy variant, it's shit. The cayenne/Cajun blend thing that's in the sauce and breading makes the sandwich what it is.

>>15196792
The Wendy's version is good, but bland as shit.

>>15196805
McChicken is it's own thing, but uses the savory fat of the fried patty mixed with the oils and lettuce to make it shine.

Literally anything but pizza for me. It's far, far too expensive now for what you get. Also, you have to tip if you want a delivery, despite the fee they charge you.

I love reading about Roman History.

>>14390299
Unironically this. You'll need a garum substitute OP if you want to make Roman recipes, it was effectively how Roman's added salt and savory to dishes, and was used with the same frequency that americans use ketchup or something. Since actual garum is not made, Colatura de Alici is a good substitute, but it's expensive and hard to find, so Vietnamese or east Asian anchovy or Sardinian based fish sauce works well.

Read Apicius "de re Coquinaria", which is avilable on Project gutenburg if you want dishes. They come from copied manuscripts.

You buy the decent stuff. Smoked Hungarian paprika worth a fuck is expensive and doesn't last terribly long. Me, I settled for another alternative, the gochugaru powder. Does the exact same thing and has a bit more kick. I use this exact brand, it's pretty good senpai.

Lol enjoy paying out the ass, even store brand volume to weight is awful. Use Sprouts or a co-op that sells bulk spices for good, high quality, lower prices on all spices. Penzeys for the nice shit.

No shit. KFC makes more money in China than they do in the USA now.

https://qz.com/77471/kfc-makes-most-of-its-money-in-china-and-now-thats-a-big-problem/

Anybody who wants good chicken goes to CFA, or Popeyes. The Popeyes chicken sammich is amazing, and I understand why people went apeshit for it. But even the fried chicken is really good.

>Just look at all the news about McDonalds and the crazy things happening there. It's a disgusting chain full of disgusting "food" items and it's always dirty.

Disregarding the entire article here, I fucking hate McDonalds now. Used to like it as a kid and a teen, but it's just shit garbage. It's gone completely downhill since SuperSize Me came out and they took out their options off the menu and try to be healthy. They got rid of thier snack wraps that were like, 1.69 a piece, and instead moved a few things to a stupid dollar menu system that blows goats due to it's lack of options. Every interior is disgusting and is filled with the lowest levels of human scum on the planet who whine and complain. I think I've seen more freakout videos happen at McDonalds than anywhere else. Maybe it's statistics, I don't know. But in my neck of the woods, all the fucking bums hang out there on the grass or inside. I've seen them pass out on seats, pick at the trash outside the store and inside, and nobody stops them or asks them to leave.

And people wonder why I pay a fucking premium to get Chick-Fil-A and Qdoba and fast casual. At least there it's clean.

Yeah man, I saw that in my post and I was dying of laughter.

>Sprouts

Fuck that place. I had a manager there who was a complete cuntbag who was obsessed with metrics. He never really staffed the store, and one night left me to face twice three sections (almost half) of the fucking store. I just hung up my apron and walked out at about 9 PM that evening and turned my phone off. Next day I had sixteen phone calls of him screaming at me about how I cost him his bonus and how he was affected by that. Fucking scumbag.
