A protip for anyone thinking of copying this retard: when you brown beef or any meat as part of a stew, you have to remove it once it's browned and you start adding the onion and veg, otherwise you will overcook the meat into shoe leather esp. beef. Sear your cubed beef, remove it with a slotted spoon into a dish, cook and season the onions and veg in the juices and then throw it back in when you're about to cover it with stock/water.

Sometimes, unions are good and help generally organize workers, but sometimes, unions are bad and steal their money the same way a greedy corporate executive would. Both can be bad sometimes.

The union took away half of my first paycheck and held it ransom unless I attended a propaganda meeting in my free-time, so I have always stayed away from them, but there's no reason why unions have to be universally bad.
