I can confirm this. My sister always has a bottle of shitty chardonnay in the fridge, which she calls "jug wine". I've tried it, and it's horrendous. I see young women, in their 20s and 30s, drinking chardonnay all the time. Yet I'm a woman in that same age range, and I never really got a taste for wine.

I think it's probably a cultural thing rather than any sort of genetic predisposition. Wine (at least in the US) is seen as a "girly" drink, especially lately with all those sequined wineglasses and "I'm an alcoholic lolololo" accessories you see around. Women are programmed to think that they have to like wine, and men are programmed to think they have to like beer.
