Call it swill ramen or whatever but my guilty pleasure food is a hot bowl of spicy instant ramen, especially on long hikes. I'm partial to samyang X2 spice, what's /CK's favorite brands/flavors?

Why is the average person so ignorant about cooking and food preparation?

>working from home
>a 'wellbeing' initiative is that in our weekly meetings we take turns to do show and tell about something from home
>my turn, decide to show them my set of artisan Japanese knives
>the office chad interrupts (without using the 'raise hand' feature) and says 'looking a little rusty there bro'
>correct him that it isn't rust and is in fact a patina, which is a sign of a superior quality knife
>"a bad workman blames his tools bro"
>correct him again that the patina is not a problem and he would realize that if he bothered to listen and learn about my knives
>see a couple of the girls typing then laugh, like they're messaging each other
>tell them "I don't know why you ladies are laughing. All the great chefs have been men you know"
>that silenced them and I finished my talk

Eating some ramen right now, prepared using my set of knives

Hi /ck/

I made hotpot for the first time tonight. I boiled water, then added a seasoning cube and scallions
Then I added sliced onion, carrots, tofu, oyster mushrooms, beef, noodles, and way too much seaweed

It was alright, pretty spicy which I don’t mind. The weird part was the aftertaste in my mouth, my mouth was a little numb, but the aftertaste was like had just brushed my teeth or something.

Any idea what I can do to get rid of this aftertaste and overall hotpot/ramen tips? Pic related it’s my result

Is this the most accepted, but also least healthy food on this board? You have plenty of fast food and junk food threads, but they're also full of equal parts people bitching about them. Instant ramen seems to be liked across the board despite being less healthy than say McDonalds or sugar cereal.

Is there any way to make homemade ramen every day without going broke? I don't have time to make pork bone broth, so I ordered some instant packets off Amazon. My supermarket doesn't carry stuff like udon or dashi or miso, so I am ordering stuff online and it's about $100 per bowl of soup. Is there a cheaper, no msg/good flavor way? In b4 top ramen, it causes cancer apparently and doesn't taste that great.

how do i save myself, microwaveable shit and instant ramen are just so easy and im so lazy that i can never imagine actually making home cooked meals every day multiple times a day. i swear this bad diet is having a negative effect on mental health, not to mention physical

Alright /ck/

It's late and I'm hungry. I'm going to make some delicious ramen with bacon fat, low sodium soy sauce, and some red pepper flakes. Very simple. I want to leave some for my wife to take and heat up at work in the microwave. Do you guys recommend separating the noodles so they don't get soggy?

How does /ck/ make its instant ramen better?

The only rule is it has to start with maruchan or a similar brand instant ramen, as a base. Bonus points for being quick/frugal, using normie ingredients, & pics.

My version
>Shrimp instant ramen
>Diced spam (fried)
>1 egg (poached in the noodle water before adding noodles)
>Green onion
>Pepper
>MSG
>Sesame seeds (texture thing)
>Hosin sauce
