I'm actually planning to do that.
Cute pajamas are cute, but A Day in the Life of a Lazy Shitbag: The Blog would be a lot funnier.
So I'm going to do that.
Ill still post whatever people submit to me, but I'm going to try to keep it entertaining.

They pretty much think we're all filthy gaijins anyway, don't they?

Huh. I guess I didn't really pay attention.
The picture had a grown woman wearing it.
But yeah, I guess it doesn't really matter at this point.

>I don't want to look like a weeb
That's gonna be pretty hard if you want to emulate any j-fashions or j-inspired-fashions.

Really? I bought the one I posted a pic of, it fits me nicely. I just assumed it was supposed to be short on you, more like a poncho.

They're too small to be a full-body blanket, but they're usually thick enough to be nice and warm.

Something like this?
They're usually called cloaks or capes in online shops.

I just want to have fun.
If calling it it "depression kei" means I can't have fun, then I'll change it to whatever you want.

Well I'm very sorry I offended you, that wasn't my intention at all. I have actually have clinical depression too, I guess I'm just not really bothered by depression jokes.
I was literally basing the description of depression kei on how I live and dress myself.
It was wrong of me to assume taht everyone who has depression is comfortable making light of it, I'm sorry.
I guess I'm useless here, so everyone who wants to make it into gloomy kei, write up suggestions and things.

Geez, did you guys think I really meant you have to stop washing and roll around in dirt?
I mean if you did, I get why you don't like it.
It was just silliness for the sake of silliness, I guess I should take it out if everyone's taking it seriously.
Sorry everyone.

You're fine, you were just frustrated.
It wasn't my idea to have two different substyles, it was suggested by a lot of people, so I thought it would make the community happy.
And since hikikei is basically anything you would wear to bed/around the house, then there are a lot of different possibilities for it, so I kind of think two substyles might be a good idea.
The moper and the dreamer.
They both spend all day inside, but one enjoys it and the other just does it.

>you make it sound disgusting
Well that's kind of the point, depressed people don't really care about how they look.
It's kind of jokey and kind of not.

> The fashion should focus on cute comfy outfits that can double as pajamas but still maintains cuteness and have an air of sloppiness.

As of its several-hour-long conception, comfy kei has a loose definition. Cute, comfy pajamas fit right into comfy kei.

Everyone can be kawaii in Hikikei.
It a truly gender, weight, income, and cleanliness-blind fashion.

I've put together a more comprehensive guide to hikikei, tell me what you think!

There are two divisions of Hikikei: Depression Kei and Comfy Kei

Depression Kei focuses more on the general sadness of being a hiki. There is less color restriction in Depression Kei, but colors are often dark.
Common traits of Depression Kei:
Hair: messy, let down, obvious roots, sloppy ponytail
Upper Body: ill-fitting tops (too big, too small, too short), baggy sweaters
Lower Body: sweat pants, pajama pants, no pants at all
Under wear: old
Feet: any sort of ridiculous socks, crocs, ugly but comfortable boots, slippers, no shoes at all
Accessories: chip dust, leg hair, human filth

Comfy Kei focuses on the more rewarding aspects being a shut-in. Comfy Kei colors are almost always light or pastels. Comfy Kei often has many, many layers.
Common Traits include:
Hair: ponytails, pigtails, buns, braids, or let down and very fluffy
Upper Body: fluffy sweaters, big t-shirts, nightgowns, cardigans, pajama tops
Lower Body: skirts of all kinds, ruffle shorts, bloomers, pajama bottoms, generally anything with a lot of poof
Feet: leg warmers, long socks, the comfiest shoes money can buy
Accessories: bows, character hats, scarves, kawaii bait

It's nothing exciting, I expect we won't be seeing any rants until we get more popular.

Made a purse post!

The hip hug bag is hands-down my favorite.

Also, I've already got my first hate message! We're a real fashion now!

So, god forbid, if you had to go outside, what kind of bag would you carry?
Or do you not have a phone or money or anything to carry?

Ooh, we need to make a master post of giant stuffed life partners.
Just because we're hikis doesn't mean we have to be alone forever.

A-Aw... Thank you anon-chan.
I've been digging deeper into hikidom for years and years now, so I have quite a head start.
I think anyone can turn their hovel into a hiki den perfect just for them if they have enough patience and spare time!
Lots and lots of spare time.
A giant Monchhichis though, you's probably have to commission...
Think that's what the hikikei shop should before?
Personalized giant stuffed animal huzabandos?
because I think that would be brilliant.
