Honestly, I couldn't say. It seems like a like fabric or just a wore down fabric compared to what you're using. I think it looks fine and will be recognizable but it's your cosplay, you can do what you want.

actually I think that green stands out a little too much.
It could be because the resolution on the 3DS isn't great- but the patterns on isabelle's dress look pretty faded

Coconuts and Bananas you find need to be planted on the beach, a fair distance away from the water, but not too close to the cliff
As for the other island fruit- if you're referring to the fruit you can find via playing the mini games then that fruit gets planted like any other fruit you find in the game.

what i do is just use the internet browser to go to facebook and upload the photos there (set on only me settings if its really embarrassing)
