Assuming your weapon is latex coated already, you can do what this anon >>9199727 suggests, however because the top coat of latex won't touch the latex of the weapon it won't seal fully and the top layer can peel off if it gets ripped or snagged.

I take some of my latex and water it down (be careful mixing latex with water- it can just 'curdle') and mix that into the paint I use. Slightly-latex paint will adhere way better than just acrylic. It will ruin any brush it comes into contact with though, so buy disposable ones. Then coat the whole thing in a thin coat of natural-colored latex (not too much or the thing will go yellow). If your weapon is plastidip it's even easier- just spray a coat of plastidip over everything.

Wool cloak. Cover it in Scotch Guard if you really need it. Long underwear. Just accept you'll get wet and wear wool stuff which will stay warm even when wet.

Personally I don't use any fake fur- all the fur pattern is just sculpted into the mask (look at the ears). I tried doing full fur laying on a animal mask once and it ruined all the details of the sculpture. Plus it's way harder to keep clean for LARP. At this point I only do fur laying for animals and creatures with a tiny bit of fur, like spiders. The process of laying the fur down makes it look kinda gross which is perfect for them.

Here's the WIP shot of the actual werewolf I did a year or two ago.

That also works- and probably tastes better than the white glue.

Boo.

I'm in the process of working on a wolf mask on a commission. Here's a WIP of the sculpt.
I've also done a more traditional werewolf.

I prefer doing sculpture and making a mould and doing cast rubber (latex, silicone, whatever). It'll always look better than paper mache or whatever other random shit you throw together.

When it comes to sculpture the biggest secret is proportion- you can't just throw a wolf head on a human face and expect it to line up right. The nose in particular looks stunted and squished when it's not done right. Think about proportion- take photos of your face from the front and in profile and draw a mask shape on top of it. Keep going until what you draw looks *right* on your face.

It was an effect rather than a specific character. It was a one-shot random NPC with very little going on with him.

Except part of the description was he had a skin condition.

The NPC had coated his face in school glue (the non-toxic kind) and would, while talking to you, peel bits of it off and eat them.

It was an amazingly disgusting effect done very, very easily.

Additionally he actually is well within the lines that my guide postulates with very few exceptions.

>Practicality
Yeap. Everything's practical other than trying to keep white pants clean.
>Fit
Everything fits well and that armor is custom made.
>Layering
He is wearing armor so layering isn't particularly needed. The armor itself is the layer. He has a few good points of interest, mostly around his face (feathers, red cap) which draw attention to the area.
>Fabric
Can't really tell from here, but it's HLF so I assume it's all linen or at least cotton.
>Color
White is technically a neutral color, as is his black shirt. Based on how bright the red on his cap looks and the blue on his legs, I assume the brightness of the white can be put down to the camera/photo (it looks a little over-saturated)
I would be bothered by the red and the blue, but because they're in such small quantities it's not too distracting.
Additionally the white of the pants is mirrored by the white on the armor, which I quite like.
>Accessories
All his leather stuff is of a similar brown. The shoes are in-genre. The belt is practical.

Effectively the only parts that bother me is how the pants fit and the future issues of keeping them clean. Not a huge fan of the blue, but it makes the outfit more unique by technically breaking the color rules.

My guide is for beginners and novices.

Once you know the rules you can break them and do whatever the hell you want.

At that point, if you look like shit it's your own damn fault.

Depends on the game.

The game I play in is extremely light when it comes to fighting (tap fighting) and doesn't allow shield-bashing so I don't need a more strongly constructed one.

Depends on the game and it's rules.

I've seen shields done with pool noodles/insulation foam along the edges.

My shield is all EVA foam with a small wooden bracing piece in the center just for rigidity.

Depends on your needs.

I have the twin belt (for a fantasy game, mind you). It's holding up very nicely and looks reasonably unique. The D-rings are also very convenient for when I need to hook something onto my belt in a hurry.

My only issue with it is if you need to string something onto your belt (like pouches, frogs, etc) and you're not using the attached rings, it can be a pain to get them on unless they have very large loops.

Drow/Dark Elves are aesthetic as fuk. I love them.

That being said, unless you plan to spend every waking second in the makeup area, even just a *tiny* bit of sweat, rain, or anything else, will immediately render your makeup shit. Black paint on white people is not forgiving when it comes to streaking- even tiny smudges are immediately noticeable.

The most successful paint solution was a guy who coated himself in several layers of black greasepaint and sealant, then dumped his face in charcoal powder. Great matte finish. Long lasting. Gave him horrific acne.

Post apoc anon and glass bottle anon are two different people.

Not sure what kind of a trip glass bottle anon is on tonight, but I hope they feel better tomorrow.

Woah.
Sorry for this but, test.

If I am correct, abbriviations like above are being automatically turned into 'desu.'
Anon that desu was originally the abbreviation for to be honest.

desu you seem to have a very solid grasp on what you're doing- I have nothing to add. You're in the right direction.

I would suggest heading out to some thrift shops (probably the weirder/darker/dirtier ones) and looking around in there for stuff you can use, or inspiration. It's essentially what you would actually be finding in the wasteland.

Pretty much what >>8955344 has quoted me for.

The more legit your magical bullshit is ahead of time, the more awesome it will be. Picking stuff just because it's cool, while cool, will never be as awesome as stuff with an *explanation* even if that explanation never comes up in game.

If nothing else, you will know it, and your roleplay will become that much more personally immersive for you.

For practical effects, baking soda + vinegar is classic if messy. Check out water color change magic tricks, they may also be cool.

Spend some time trawling shitty hippy websites- stuff for crystal healing can be some great inspo for enchanting roleplay, and may be perfect for essence stones.

It doesn't look leathery. It looks like tape. I promise it is way more noticeable than you think.

Papermache is easy to use and make, use google. Coat the entire mask in a layer or two of it, and use papermache clay (also you can make it, again google it) to build up around your gem setting. It does not look organic the way it is.

Once it's completely dry, sand it.

Then paint.

Got mailed an old sewing box by a friend of my family. It has been converted into my medical kit box.

>>8953075
>>8953082
You can seal it with any acrylic sealer. If you're really worried, you can coat it with a coat of epoxy resin.

Before you do that though, wouldn't you rather smooth out the surface texture? It's pretty obvious. Or make a proper setting for the gem? You can use papermache paste and just build up around it so it doesn't look so glued on. It's looks arts-and-crafts the way it is now.

Move your belt up to where the white pattern is on the sides of your jacket thing, it'll make your torso look better and it'll make the tails look cooler.

Your jacket-thing is pretty Assassin's Creed, but it's not the worst.

I would invest in a few extra shirts- and maybe not roll up the sleeves? It makes it look modern/videogamey to me.
