Rain all day Friday I could handle since I had a nice warm cloak, and could get under canvas and stay dry. But standing for half an hour in the pissing rain on the Sunday for monstering was an utter ball-ache.
Was good meeting you again, and Senate-Knife Club is becoming really popular. Nothing like drunken knife fights with a League Senator to round off a day.

Glad I missed the mud at E1, I remember the Wintermark mud lake from E2 last year.

There was a great bit at the last Senate session when they were discussing the Skarscind situation. Just as the vote was ongoing a bunch of Wintermarkers had been found guilty of running an assassination business from their pub. Just as the Magistrate gave the order for the three to be executed, there was a huge cheer from the Senate building and the crowd outside for the vote passing.
So at the same moment, it was Wintermark at it's absolute best and worst.

When you shot me whilst I was monstering, I hoped you came to execute me as I planned to grab you and say "cgl sends it's regards"

Finally meeting you was cool, and I must attend senate knife club again.

Empire was fantastic. Fucking knackered though.
Battle story
>Playing an enemy Orc on the Sunday battle.
>Run around the corner of the Fort
>A wild 4chan Redwiw appears!
>Redwiw fires crossbow at Scottish
>It's super effective!

Did manage to catch up with him very late on the Sunday night during Senate Knife Fight Club.

pic related is me just before the Saturday battle. I want some nice leather armour to go over the chain.

Car is packed and ready, weather is looking dry but cloudy, ready to rock for a 6am start.

But the Marchers love the mud! One senator even described them as a "dirty protest with an egregore!"

I know that feeling. Luckily we're packing the car tomorrow night and leaving here at 6 am on Friday for the drive down.

>Tell me gulls, how did you first get into it?
Started with tabletop gaming, then started doing World of Darkness pub-larp due to different social groups mixing at parties. Then I started field larps due to a bunch of other friends who had been at it for a while enthusing to me about it. That's why I started field larp way later than usual (16 years after my first tabletop and 13 years after my first pub larp)
>What is the draw for you?
It's a lot more visually appealing than tabletop, and it let's me roleplay with a hugehuge aunt of different folks I normally wouldn't. I also tend to get more emotionally involved at a larp than a tabletop. And hitting folks in big battles is always great.
>How do you create your characters?
I get a base concept of what I want to play, then I look at costuming. Detailed character stuff tends to come naturally the more I play that character.

The butterscotch vodka you had at E4 was really, really nice. The lass behind the bar was also gave me and a couple of hallmates a great laugh.

I'm the sounding board for a Hallmate who was an adjutant, but got Green Shield general at E1, and the amount of meetings he's in is crazy. I've had to go and make sure he got someone to eat otherwise he'd forget.

The politics are really interesting. I plan to get more involved, being friends with senators in different nations really helps.

Not a Senator, but I'm the only one in the Hall that goes to the sessions, so I tend to report back major events.

I think it's from 22:00 till 23:00, but depending on what happens I might be in meetings afterwards. Friday night is always busy.

I'm likely to be fairly busy too, 22:30 is also when the first Senate session starts.

Never went to ODC, don't really have the time to do that along with Empire and No Rest. I missed E1, so no real opinion on the new site.

I take a bunch of meat pies and dried fruit for snacking during the event but my main meals come from one of the food tents.

Revolutionary war is way cooler than Civil War anyways. Granted that's probably due to location bias more than anything else.

You can touch each other, as long a both parties agree. For something like a little knife fight, you can have a wee whisper in the ear to see if a little bit of grappling is fine. Makes the fight look cool.
He'll one of my best fight moments was when my 40k character ran out of bullets and ended up rolling around with a corrupted Harlequin Death Jester till I killed him. Granted it helped that the member of crew knew I'd be up for that.

>>8328247
Tykes is indeed very cool. Glad you got it sorted in the end. Horse is starting to get on folks nerves for his unprosperous ways.

>>8328295
Shit, if the game allows it, and it's within context of the setting then she can wear what she wants. Only proper sperglords would actually give two fucks. She's put better effort into her costume than a lot of folks.

In short. Be less mad.

If you can, make it decorative so it looks more like part of the costume.
