I like this thread.
My most complicated is my Troll axe. I'm still a babby at propmaking, so this beastie was an exercise in what NOT to do. It's a glued-together mess of pvc sheet and pipe, expanding foam, pink insulation foam, apoxie sculpt, tears, blood, and fail. I learned a lot from it though, so hopefully my next big prop will be better.

...I think.

Also did anybody else notice that 7 and 8 are transposed on this list?

RRRRROOOOOOLLIN'

I have exactly one lolita skirt and pretty much the entirety of the rest of my wardrobe is t-shirts and jeans. This will be interesting.

>and god knows how many owners actually know what breed their dogs are

I know what breed my dog is. Canis dumbassicus, the Labradumb Retriever.

(Not to be glib, but can we talk about the con instead of arguing about a wolfdog?)

Oh, I totally agree. I just thought he added extensions or something. Either way I'm impressed.
>>7517238
You look SO CUTE! The skirt and sleeves came out especially nice.
>>7517250
Your hard work was worth it, because that collar looks great. Well done.
>>7517282
I don't know the character but this looks fab. So clean and polished!
>>7517295
I have such a weakness for the mori/faun look. The burlap leaves and gathering are my favorite part.
>>7517323
I must have been under a rock because I haven't seen this one before. And now that I have, all I can say is daaaaaaaaaaaayum. It looks fabulous, and dat wig is yum.

And thank you! The neckpiece and bracers are craft foam, the small boob plates are cast resin, and the large boob plates are paperclay over craft foam. Oh, and googly eyes for rivets.
>>7517344
Uh oh. What happened at Sakuracon with Rufio?
>>7517398
I love seeing cosplays from older games, and you look great. I especially like the wig and green cloak.
>>7517445
This is so cute! I love that cape, and you found the perfect fabric for the cuffs and collar.
>>7517488
Aw, thank you! The armor is in desperate need of an overhaul now- the paint job is totally trashed because I'm an idiot and didn't seal it. Oops.
I really love your makeup for this cosplay! Those crazy eyelashes look great and make your eyes pop. The bodice also looks really nice.
>>7517556
I don't know the character, but if you hadn't told me the design was altered I wouldn't have noticed- it looks flawless. What kind of paint did you use on the armor?

>>7517163
You dyed it? Whaaaaaaat!
Please tell me you're going to cosplay Rufio next.

>>7517148
You did this in a week? Dang, girl. What are the sword and shield made of?

I love that hair! How did you do the wig?

My latest is Valkyrie 1.1 from Wondercon, first time wearing it after the first rushed version last spring. I need to style my wig better and I made some major rookie mistakes on the armor, but hopefully version 1.2 will iron those out. That fucking sheepskin was hot as balls, though. Photo is by Mooshuu on Flickr.

I know this feel, sis. I too am in the market for cute styles for thin hair. My hair is thin, sad, and goes flat and greasy twenty minutes after I dry it no matter what products I use.

Dang, those are cute. For a heel that high I'd probably get these, although I haven't tried them personally.
http://www.superfeet.com/en-us/insoles-and-sandals/delux-women-s-3-4-high-heel

For most of my shoes I use the green ones because I have flat feet that roll in too much. I've had pretty good luck using the blue ones (which are a bit lower than the green) in my 4" boots, but it depends on how tight the toe box is. If it's a tight toe box, the 3/4 length ones meant for heels or the berry ones would probably work best.

They're stupid expensive, but the good news is that you can switch them between shoes and they're a hell of a lot cheaper than orthotics or surgery.

>>7516076
Superfeet are expensive but totally worth it if you have fucked up feet like me. I have a pair for pretty much every pair of shoes I have. They make smaller inserts for dress shoes/heels that I haven't tried yet, but if they're anything like the regular blue/green ones, they're a lifesaver.

Oh my god, that's hilarious. I'm trying to think of something I could use a white zentai for just because it's making me laugh so hard. Are they all headless with no gloves?

Huh, there it is. I'm baffled by how they got it through the door? Service dogs usually have vests or other tags that identify them as working, and you have to have the paperwork with you at all times.

I haven't even started editing my photos yet, but in the meantime here's one with me and a very nice Khal Drogo who was also an Invincible fan.

What are your sources for vintage machines?

My friend is hoping to surprise his fiancee with a new machine and after reading this thread and recalling my own experiences with new vs old machines, I recommended that he get a vintage Singer or Kenmore and get it fixed up. Should I tell him to hit Craigslist, or are there better sources out there?
