It's because you've gotten to a stage where your hair now preempts a daily shower so it begins producing extra oils to compensate for those that are about to be lost through the imminent shower.

It's a difficult cycle to break, because obviously you have to walk around looking greasy and foul for a while, but it really, really pays off in the end.
I recommend doing it during a period where you're not going to be going outside much or have a lot of social contact. Next time you get sick is a good example, because you'll just be laying around inside all day, it's a good excuse to get filthy and not shower for a while.

It doesn't have to be money you donate OP. As a few people have already mentioned, a lot of charity organizations are very corrupt and it can be extremely difficult to differentiate between whom is trustworthy and who is using donations to line their coffers.

If you want to do something good but you worry about where your donations could end up, a good idea would be to go out and buy food to donate to food banks, or something similar with clothing. Even small things like if you see somebody homeless on the street, go and buy them a sandwich, pasta, crisps or a nice drink.

Actually, in a way, her family kind of did dig it. You can't raise a dog teaching it to crap all over the place, then get mad and smack the dog for shitting when it shits on the carpet.
Her family is EXTREMELY controlling of her, so whenever Dakota does anything now I don't look to her, I look to her mother.

I don't think she is actually racist or homophobic any more. Not saying she isn't a jerk because she probably is, but it was very recently that somebody reminded me that I shouldn't judge people without knowing the whole story. It's something that is so easy to lose sight of when getting caught up in this kind of drama.

If she's really messed up then honestly it's no surprise considering her parents and who she has for a sister. I feel like a total turd.
