Actually went to Banzaicon last year because all of my friends where going and hey, why not! It was a lot of fun.
One tip if you are gonna work there as well: If you are gonna go get your free meal from the cafeteria, do it early as fuck. Me and my friend was gonna get our burgers and they were completely raw on the inside. Not fun.

Pretty meh overall. My entire saturday was pretty much ruined by that damn forsaken cosplay competition but ah well. Who needs to spend 4 hours at the con when everything can be delayed because of that one guy that felt like we should remake the entire structure of the cosplay competition the same day we are gonna have it. Motherfucking brilliant.
Also I heard there was a lot of troubles with the sleeping halls and people got thrown out to make room for the Host Club or something like that.

I am like a bit guilty of this as well.
During 3rd to 5th grade my only friend and I was only pretending to be from Legend of Zelda. He was Link and I was Dark Link and we had a lot of fun. We never actually invited someone else and we only did it and a secluded place at school or at one of our backyards. We really went full out as well. I think we managed to go through the story of 2-3 games and we did like a thousand new small stories for shits and giggles.

Not super horrible but it was so annoying and so easily avoidable.
Earlier this year I worked at a con called Banzaicon. I had never before worked at a con but I applied because my friends were doing it and it was an easy way to not pay for the ticket (ridiculously expensive).
So I applied for security and got the job. I was gonna guard the main stage during 00:00-02:00 and then switch to one of the sleeping halls.
I helped out with removing the chairs and such at the main stage and also with the cleaning. There are still a few people around, two people cosplaying Gray and Natsu from Fairy Tail, a couple of whovians (with a life-size Dalek) and another person in the security crew.
The stage area was completely open so the Fairy Tail cosplayers just did some random things like acrobatics and similar which I thought was pretty okay since there was no people there and nothing to actually hurt themselves on. Then they went up on the stage so I told them to go down from there since only people who work with the stage or are gonna have something to do there is allowed onto it. They oblige and everything is cool.
The con had a huge banner above one part of the stage area and around 10 minutes after I told them not to go up on the stage, what do they do? They start jumping and hitting the banner. I told them to quit it because I don't really feel like having it fall down on the very first day of the con. They keep on doing it and so I have to tell them again to cut it out. They mutter something and leave the area.
I leave the stage when my shift is done and once I come back the next day to enjoy the con. What have happened? The banner has almost completely fell down. This wasn't a small banner as well. It was long enough to go from one side in the hall to the other which was about 30 meters. So I had to help them, on my free time to put it up again.
I later found out they actually work at the con.
