So anyone heard about the pay system in Darkenvale?

Pay extra for extra exp and gold!

I picked it up from reenactment and it stuck in my head.

Clothes etc.

Mainly built armour but started doing soft kit because there's a bigger demand for it apparently.

Working on a mask for a fae creature and some monster kit atm. Going all out on a troll mask.

>You can get a pair of sealskins for about 30 quid in Millets

This. We had swampfest this summer with everyone getting soaked from the shitty site we used and those in sealskins were dry as a bone.

Worth the price tag.

>How do you save for your lolita/cosplay needs?
I buy whatever i feel when I want providing I know i have safe funds to do so. So each payday i'll "allow" myself £100 or so spending on hobbies or luxuries before stopping and swapping to one or two in a blue moon.

>What was the job that help you get started?
Erm, last job (writing reviews for phone apps) was pretty easygoing and had aload of perks so I bought alot of stuff as I got paid. this one i've had to start budgeting for adult shit.

>Any advice to folks having problems saving?
Don't go to a con if you're gonna whine about being broke. There will be other cons, start putting away money now while you can for it. Or just make it yourself and get thrifty. Either way, don't cry about it.

When I started my new larp character i bought a garish and luxurious coat for £100. I dunno if i'll ever use the character but the coats the fucking bomb.

I used eva foam tiles stacked on eachother with mega strong contact adhesive then sanded the remainder. one or two layere cut out around the shoe and the same adhesive under that.

Always have a minder with stilts though of any caliber.

A (possibly half) ogre who has been in our system for ages. I'd sat down with him around the campfire and we were talking about how my character had unusual equipment etc. and he mentioned a time in his life that someone asked him about why he never had new equipment.

>"How does new stuff happen."
"you buy it with money."
>"Don't have money. Don't know what money is."
"but you get paid to go out and do adventures."
>"What these?" *holds out giant paw of coins*
"Yes! Wait thats 100 crowns. How did you eat if you haven't spent it?"
>"Me take. Noone stop."
he then explains that the other adventurer teaches him about coins and that they can be traded for materials, items as well as weapons and armour..... this lead to a post on the forums asking for equipment drawn in ink and paper and then scanned in of a gold coin and an arrow of armour etc.

Credit where credit is due to dedication.

Was about 2 years ago, no organisation.

(It was before kenny did garen every con and just demolished the rest of us)

I'm the ez under the play button.

Most of the people i met at that con refused to go back to another meet as Riot just fav'd certain people and the rest of the fans were pure cancer.

Much like league online.

Nearly complete on restoring the wrecked reenactment leg armour I picked up for the cheap on ebay. Just putting the clips on tonight and testing.

Canvas satchel for main shit but i got a leather back pouch for bigger events and general moving. It just didn't sit right with my old shoulder armour when I was moving.

Kinda, like you have the hard bitten leader who's seen shit you wont imagine. The secretive rogues who they found somewhere, The tank who's cased in armour not afraid of anyone. That kinda shit.

And motive as in, "What caused this band to form." Were they sell swords who banded together for more cash? Was it a tactical paymaster who saw gold to be made with a highly skilled group of mercs? Was it a necessity of the times to band together? Are they bonded together?

All aspects to build off.

I'd say find a motive for your organisation and build it off from there.

A gritty pay master bossing around a group of hard bitten sellswords would be rad but if your garbs gonna be all shiney new and un roughened you're gonna look out of place.

Group of specialists could be awesome rather than "7 dudes with scars gnarled weapons and armour" that you see in some groups.

Butted steel is alright for larp. Butted Ali is like butter and it's only really good for show walking etc.

Riveted Steel is heavy and strong. Riveted Ali kinda takes away the weakness aspect. It's still soft but the idea of it being riveted is that it doesn't break as easily.

Chain off ebay is dropping in price because alibaba has overstocked it again though.

Fools and heroes are a national group.

You can usually find a branch nearby and then go to whatever new ones you fancy on the other weekends.

Other than that, empire is always a good start. Just introduce on Facebook and you're set.

I did alot of work in uni for some yanks who paid me via Amazon gift cards. Got sent alot of review items and when the eBay larp boom started they carried over my details.

Free helmets for honest reviews and my larp group buy tonnes off the sellers.

Atm it's chain and plate. Working to get more but saving in between. Fixing up some old reenactment leg armour I got on the cheap.

I got sent this one from a ebay seller in india as a freebie review item. (Same way I got most of my helmets)

This was the first put on before i added some padding and tried it with the rest of the armour. (It's also the only photo i have wearing it hence the "big" look)

It's on the paint list after i've finished fixing my greaves and knee armour. May check out Odyssey at some point.

(That helm looks pretty sexy btw)

The Corinthian I got isn't cumbersome at all.

It's not bronze or closed as much as the ones seen in museums but it covers the spots necessary.
