Yeah that sounds like their kind of stuff. I was waiting back stage with Bad Wolf who was entered in the contest and they did a lot of shuffling around and panning camera movements to get all the cosplayers. A girl came up to us and asked if we "wanted to be in a skit" we thought she meant something on stage and I agreed after hearing her idea which was for one of us to go up to one of the girls being filmed and "offer her a pad to fix her camel toe that her costume is giving her" (surprise, there wasn't one and she looked fine) I thought that this was a joke and that the other girl knew about it so I played along, thinking it was kind of hilarious since I was dressed as Cheryl Tunt from Archer. This girl shoves some pads in my purse and tells me to offer them to her when the cameras are paying attention. So I go up to her acting really fake still thinking this was some kind of joke but the other girl was really cool about it and was all "nah man I'm good I don't really care at this point" we laughed and later I approached her when the cameras weren't looking and asked about the girl that approached me. This was when I found out that the woman who told me to do it was a producer, and I apologized to the girl and she said that stuff like that happens a lot since they're trying to make things more "interesting".

Like I said, I really hope they don't use it since I'm guessing she didn't react they way they were expecting her too. Not enough dramu.

I'm really curious if this is the same thing they were filming for at ECCC this year. All they said was that they were filming a cosplay show for syfy so I'm pretty sure it is. In which case I expect it to be awful since they spent the entire time filming these mediocre cosplayers that were entered in the costume contest (which yaya was a judge for).

I just really hope they don't use the footage that I was in, it seemed that the producer was trying to create fake drama but was being discreet about those intentions (ex: "Do you want to be part of a skit?? it'll be so funny! Go do this but make sure the cameras are looking!")

does anyone know any stores to get lace front wigs besides Arda?

You should! I loved Fanime last year, it goes over memorial day weekend so the con feels like it goes on forever, which is great. And last year it actually wasn't that warm, in fact I remember being pretty chilly if I was out and about before 1 or 2

I'm mainly planning it for Fanime, dunno about Kumo since if I go at all it'll only be for a day or so. I look forward to seeing your North, though!

Also going to ECCC but otherwise this is pretty much the same

probably only gonna get a badge for one day, and just hang around the convention center the rest of the weekend. Can anyone recommend which day will likely have the better events?

This is of course if I get a badge at all, which I'm super intimidated by how quickly they're gonna sell out ;__;

Is anyone else staying/ has stayed at the Four Points Sheraton next to the fairmont? I got a suite since there's like 5 or 6 other people in my room with some big costumes/props.

I'm really excited for this con because I had so much fun last year and this year my whole group is coming! We've been planning since last Sakuracon, so we're all really anxious.

Decided I'd be going not too long ago, I have a lot of things I can bring so that's still up in the air. Maybe Merida if I finish her in time, also probably a closet cosplay of Cheryl from Archer because why the fuck not.

I've never been to this con so I'm really excited/nervous! Does anyone know what the ratio is of cosplayers/regular attendees? Are there cosplay gatherings?

pretty sure this is my official lineup. Also bringing Pabu but I really have no idea when I'd wear it so no promises. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone! I leave super early Thursday morning so just 1 day left for me!

basically everything. Didn't include ALA because that'd be another 7 costumes to list. SDCC is a maybe because it depends on whether we can get tickets, Kumoricon I don't plan on really buying a badge or staying for more than a day or two (if I go at all)

I haven't posted in a progress thread in ages, but I finished Miss Martian today. You can kinda see that some of the lines are still a little uneven, so I'm hoping to go back and do some hand stitching to tidy things up before ALA. (apologies for the dirty mirror)

omg you are the best! After checking a reference I'd say the neckline could definitely be moved down just a tad more, I really didn't notice until you pointed it out though! It looks great!
