It's just my personal style and my goal is never to give my work a realistic look. So, that's a question of taste. I like the cartoonish style more and since the sales of my painting book are going well it looks like the most guys like this style too.

Thor? I guess, you mean Faora from Man of Steel, right? Plan is to use a different crafting and painting method. And to hide my ugly face under her helmet. Overall however I guess the required thickness is perfect for a sandwich. But yeah, that's just my opinion.

Well I hope my upcoming costumes will show a bit more variaty. I'll keep on doing armors, but I try to show more different shapes, structures and colors.

Show me a foam costume which looks after 20 trips in a suitcase over the world still like new. I surerely can use other materials which are far less expensive, but I just need something solid and durable. Right now I build everything for a suitcase transportation and so that's the perfect material. And well, I just hate sewing and love crafting. I guess, I will never understand why you guys are so much against thermoplastics.

Thanks a lot! Painting should start pretty soon since the armor is almost competely done.

>>7274659
So far I've spent around 4 or 5 Worbla sheets, but I've already lost count. This project is way too crazy.

>>7274673
Yeah, I've planned a sexy Deadric armor (and don't kill me for that but I need costumes I'm able to travel with) and Faora from Man of Stee for this year. But since I play only Blizzard stuff and don't cosplay anything from games I don't know (okay... except my Wonder Woman from Injustice) I will stay mostly with Blizzard stuff.

>>7274702
Well, just followed my reference and since it's just a texture I'm not able to give it more deep I already gave.

It's not a big deal, you just need a ton of Worbla, time and patience. I'm sure you can do the same!

>>7271178
Yeeeah, took a lot of time to build this stuff!

>>7273854
That's cuuuute!

Eating Worbla like potatoe chips right now, but almost the whole armor is done now. Was a bit worried because of the mass on the top, but I guess it has a good shape now. But I'm so not looking forward to paint it. Also I don't want to wear it once it's done...

... and sometimes I create the basic part completely without any reference just by sight. Once this first, basic part is done the rest is only childs play since I now just need to build the rest up.

Creathing the basic piece is the most important and hardest part. Sometimes I just use somthing with a similar shape like my wig head...

Thanks a lot! It was a pure pain but also a lot of fun to build this crazy thing. But I'm really, REALLY not looking foward to paint it!

Also just working on the pauldrons right now. First one is already done and I guess the biggest challenge of the costume will be doors... Giant armor crab incoming.

Oooh, this sounds cool! Good luck on this part, I'm sure it's not that easy. And thanks a lot. The material is really awesome, but I would also love to try metal one day. Well, but there is never an end for learning.

Wow, this looks SO cool! Pretty impressive for a piece out of foam. Cannot wait for the paint job!

>>7260870
Just epic and has a perfect look! Hope however you'll add some weathering later.

Oh my, need really more time to post here more. Always really appreciate your critique.
Well, just working on a Crusader from Diablo III right now and am done with the helmet. It was a lot of work and turned out extremely massive and huge, but finally wanted to create a full armor set and challenge myself again.

Ah, it's just experience. I'm already working for around 4 years with Worbla and Wonderflex. Bet you are also better in wood working, sewing, or other things!

Oh, this looks really cool! Love you symmetrical and clean you was able to shape it!

Some random progress of my next project, a Diablo III Crusader. This costume will be really heavy!

The book will basically start where the other one ended. So I will beginn with the problems of Worbla and Wonderflex when it comes to painting, explain the use of wood glue, gesso and spay filler when it comes to a decision and explain the different kinds of basic paint. I will introduce several products and different technqiues like painting from dark to light and to light to dark, then the setting of shaddows and highlights, applying details and then what happens after the paint job. That's the plan so far.

>>7216278
Completely agree. If you really want to build a full armor, you have to spent at least 500 bucks only for materials. It's not just the Worbla, it's also the fixing material, the fabric part under the armor, shoes, wig, you surely also want to get a weapon... Working with Worbla is anything then cheap and it's not just because of the material, but mostly just because of the size of the project. Spent over 2500 $ for the Protoss Wizard btw...

Just google a bit. That's what you always have to do and I found already a ton of helpful stuff in less then one minute.

>>7214807
Thanks a lot, that's super nice of you! Guess that's the main reason that people buy it. But yeah, you'll find the most content already on my website for free if you want.

Hm... well, I would do then handpainting, but it's impossible to explain that without making a video. However I'm pretty sure there are also rust look sprays which work also on paper.

>> No.7214770 [View]

>>7214765
I would just check tutorials for case modding. There are a lot of stuff about rusty and old looks.

Yeah? Okay, I'll think about that, thanks for the feedback!

>>7214759
I was not sure, which I should write next: A painting or a prop book, but after the armor one I guess people would like to know the next steps.

You're welcome!

>>7214748
Yeah, I have no idea if and how many problems I will have with it. I just have a running project, which I can use as a base for experiments, but I want at least to cover it since there are a lot of people who ask me about that and will miss that point in the book otherwise. After the first book it seems that I was able to cover all questions and that's also my goal for the second book, so airbrush is a must have topic.

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. Especially here is really nice to read that.

Guess I'll start with the painting guide in around one month. There is some preparation and research I need to do since I also want to cover the work with air brush, which I never did before. Guess I and my husband work pretty unilaterally and I just want to offer my readers also a fast, nice looking alternative besides hand painting.

I don't know what happend, but I'm very sorry if I said or did something wrong. I had a very tight schedule for Blizzcon and I sadly just didn't had that much time as I wish for everybody.

It seems, that some mails landed in the junk folder or just didn't arrived. Use the support form and I'll sent you a new link.

Why should I lie about it if I don't lie about the video? Since I've learned from him, he surely also made the tutorial with a sample piece for me.

>>7204946
>>7205995
And btw you guys can also just order it. I guess 5$ is really not that much.

>> No.7200131 [View]

My husband painted only the white lines and the runes, which is maybe 5% of a one year long project. No idea why so much drama about that.

Thank you, but I already have three US cosplayers and three German non-cosplayers who studies English as test readers. If I will have time I will add more.

>>7199391
Oh, my cosplay partner did also my whole fabric stuff and my husband did all the electronics. I also got free wigs, free acrylic, a free flight and with a room in the Hilton I'm also friends with Mike Morhaime and Wei Wang, the artist of the original Protoss Wizard artwork, did you know?
I'm really already waiting for the next stories all these guys have for me, it's just too amusing!
