i think they're pretty perfect right where you have them, but i'm personally a big fan of the more ram-like style for aradia/damara. the curls are pretty much perfect- i don't think you have to alter the shape at all. they might be a little bit thick once you finish them up, though, especially if you'll be coating them with something else. that's really my only suggestion with your horns- they're looking awesome otherwise.

i made about 4 pairs of horns for my aradia cosplay and discovered that looking at them flat and actually holding them up to my head made them look drastically different, so i suggest that you take a picture of yourself holding one or both of the horns up to your head? it would be easier to give advice then.

delurking for a moment to say no, i actually agree with the first anon. i mean, i was just complimenting her here under anon too. her handmaid is brilliant- it's really spot-on with canon, more so than mine, because she went to the extra mile to tackle that crazy horn shape. i love it! but i'm alright with my version of her too, haha.

i didn't egg anyone on or make fun of anyone, though. yeah, i find butthurt hilarious, but honestly all i did was publish a few asks then leave for several hours. the post was at just a few hundred notes when i left and i returned to 3000+ because homestuck fandom is insane.

so i am pretty tired of rehashing the same point with you, anon. stop using the 'she's 17' argument and trying to make it out like i am some kind of criminal mastermind.
all i did was reblog a post and other people saw the post and reblogged it too. that is not shocking. homestuck fandom does stupid shit like this all the time. it doesn't mean i told them to do it. i think it's absolutely stupid to send millions of messages stating the same thing to one person on tumblr, and i have never said differently.

true that! i couldn't figure out if that was just the collar extending downwards or what. i think it would also be fairly easy to modify if necessary- i was just a little concerned with embellishing it too much because i would rather add details to my costume later than have to remove them. removing is so much harder.
to the anon who was asking, i think you can go with either interpretation. both seem like they could be pretty accurate so far.

do you mean that you think the bottom might be hemmed in the lighter red color as well? i considered that but decided to gun on it being part of the skirt waistband, since the black outline of her shirt stops before it. but it would be easy enough to modify the shirt to have the lighter red bias around the bottom if it turns out that way! i bought a good amount of extra fabric for that purpose haha.

here's the (kind of shitty- sorry, i use a laptop trackpad) concept i drew up in ms paint of what i think her shirt would look like according to the walkaround sprite. this is by no means canon so far, so i kept it simple and avoided adding any buttons or extra stripes that weren't visible in the sprite, to make it easier to modify if necessary later.
hopefully this helps! i don't have many close up photos so far but i can try to dig one up if you need it.

i use the tinfoil + model magic method a lot of cosplayers use. for the ridged texture i wrap yarn or twine in a spiral around the horn itself before it dries. you need t make sure the yarn/twine sinks into the model magic a little, then you can sort of pat it in place around it. wait a day or two before untwisting the yarn/twine. the indents it leaves behind make for a really interesting texture- you can increase the effect when you paint then by painting a slightly darker shade inside the cracks than on top.
