Sometimes we have threads on here for people who are looking to do a group-cosplay thing, and I've recruited a few people for groups that way.

Also fuq yeah Spawn. Not that I'd ever dream of cosplaying from it because it's been way too many years since I've last read any of the comics, but good taste man.

Today you can find good wigs at the price of $20 or less actually. Unless you want a long wig, in which case the price range is $30-40 or more.

Years ago I got a pair of super rad platform boots for 10 kr/about £1.
They broke after a few years, and I ended up finding about £20 inside of them (in danish money)

I do dare say that is the best find I have ever made.

Oh no, that picture isn't of our room, just one from the same hotel. Ours is bigger with one double and one single bed. You guys can have the single, thus sharing a pillow.

Also jfc, no, no eiffel toweing.

Yeah it's for both of you! £100 - £120 for each, depending on how much cash you've got. We're gonna have a ball, I promise.

It's not too bad honestly, just £360 for two nights, divided by three. I do need to pay an extra deposit of £50 in case of damages though. So if any weaboos enter that apartment, please be careful. I'm not made of money.

>>6518535
Alcohol is your friend then.
But really, sometimes you have to force yourself into those kinds of situations. I am extremely asocial myself and rarely talk to new people if I have to, but sometimes I just need to force myself to talk in order to have some fun and not feel like an awkward bum all night.
We're all crazies here, so don't be scared.

Don't have a picture of the actual 3-person apartment I've got, but it should be something a little bigger than picture related.
I've never been to MCM or any of the meet-ups before so I don't know if what I've got is big enough, but my door is still open.

A lot of people go on their own. Just be cool and social and shit.

There are apartments, and I've got one right next to the Excel centre. I honestly wouldnt mind letting people in for a party on saturday if there are no other big places to chill.

>Do cosplayers date other cosplayers to have someone to dress up with?
I'll date a cosplayer if I love one, not because I think it'll be kawaii to have someone to play dress-up with.

I've had the displeasure of knowing two people who will date another cosplayer for the sake of getting more attention at conventions, and I really don't understand the point of doing that.

>Is it possible to find love at a convention?

Currently getting paid nicely to play the piano all day. Although, a big savings-account of mine will be opened up in a few weeks, and that is what will pay for my conventions next year.

I would murder him. Drown him or push him out of the window. Or possibly have roomservice bring me a knife and steak that could be used as murder weapons.
No regrets.

At the moment, not -that- fit no. Joseph isn't happening till august next year though, so hopefully I should be a bit more muscular then.

You're is a joke now?
I'm gonna need a drink, cause I don't think I can handle this form of humor.

Move along then, keep up the drama and whatever else you british people love to do.

Dude, if you're gonna prove a point, at least know the difference between your and you're. That was painful man.

I do agree with you though, so good on you for being gr8.

>Thinking of cosplaying He-man and singing that high pitched song to annoy people
That would be great actually. The high pitched version is way better than the original, so it would be a nice joke-cosplay. Do it.

My mind is elsewhere right now, so I've got no cosplay plans on my mind. All I know is that I'll be doing some Touhou and Jojo related stuff, and a bunch of other things I've agreed to do with friends.

>Do you guys have any secondary talents besides sewing, make-up and prop-creation?
I play the piano and melodica.

>Does it help you fit the character even more?
Yes and no. Don't know many characters who play the piano, and carrying a keyboard around at a con all day would probably kill my arms. Good thing the melodica can substitute for it, on the rare occasions that I do cosplay a character that plays it.

>How did you enjoy this year's conventions?

I only made it to Amecon this year, and it was pretty fun to hang with people. The distance between the venue killed my feet, but everything else was nice and fun.

>What conventions are you looking forward to next year?

Ayacon for sure. Will be my first (and sadly last) Aya, and I'm sure it'll be amazing. I'm also a bit excited for Gemucon. I doubt it'll be super amazing considering the venue, but a few friends who I haven't seen in a few years are going, so there's that.
Will also attend a few Expos which will probably be fun. Nothing to be excited about though.

>How do you feel about the current cosplay scene at UK cons?

There's not as much drama as there used to be, which is quite nice. Cosplays have also gotten better the last few years and everyone is still awesome most of the time.

>> No.6457555 [View]

When I actually remember to eat, I usually stick to some take-away food like pizza or fries or something.

But most of the time, no foods will be had all weekend.

>> No.6433537 [View]

What I do is make sure to always -ALWAYS- have at least one person around, who will function as my safety-net. So long as I'm not alone at a con, I'm ok.
Never stay in a hotel room at the con on your own, cause then you will get too scared to go back to the actual con afterwards. I have that problem at least.
If you still feel extremely uncomfortable, drink a beer or two to calm yourself. I can't recommend it if you don't drink that much, since it can make the anxiety worse irl (= manipulating your brain into thinking you always need booze whenever meeting up with other people), but if you know how to control your booze and am aware of yourself at most times, it's a good solution.
Also, medicine. Get some pills that will calm you in case you start freaking out. However, don't rely on those pills, just have them on you in case of an 'emergency'. - And if something happens, tell yourself that it could be much worse, so you wont need said pills for this time.

I never put much effort into my costumes because that'll usually keep the photographers away, while still attracting fellow fans. A photographer will want your photo every now and then, so just be polite and strike a pose.

So, just go for it anon. You wont get better if you limit yourself. My anxiety got really really bad two years ago, but I refused to let it stop me. I ended up spending a convention in my hotel room sobbing because I had no "safety net" person by my side. But at least I went. Next con I attended, I made sure to have a friend who understood my issue a 100%, and it went a lot better then. I did have to rest up in my room often, but I still got to experience the con a little bit. I guess what I'm trying to point out is challenge yourself bit by bit, and remember to pat yourself on the back and say "There's always a next time!" instead of building up even more anxiety because it didn't go the way you had hoped.

I have been wanting to do Shadow from Galaxy Express 999 for years.
Only thing keeping me from doing it is that it's going to be way too expensive for something that absolutely noone is going to recognise anyway. I do love her as a character, and if I ever become rich, I'll cosplay her.

>> No.6425121 [View]

>>6425113
Good thing that you're not the one cosplaying her then, don't you think?
Really, don't go acting like a crazy Final Fantasy fan. I like most of the characters, nothing worth fangirling over or going "ew gross" over. C'mon man.

>>6424759
Yessssssssssss I love you.
