We've still got thirty costumes to finish before Friday(buttons and easy, but time-consuming shit) and about eight of them have yet to be fitted. I hate them SO much for not taking half an hour to come in and let us pin crap together. Odds are, they'll show up an hour before doors open and wonder why their costumes aren't done. No glitter or sequins for them.

The CosCast from Nerd Reactor. We've only got about 50-ish episodes out, but this is the first time that I'm dragging the western nerd culture dudes to an anime con. It's a blessing that it's Fanime.

Attending all God damned weekend. Getting drunk, doing cosplay podcast shenanigans, representing other cons, being ewgew kaway with everyone at the meet up, and giving Kyle at the hotel's front desk yet another shining review.

As for cosplay, I have no idea since the studio has us making something like a zillion other costumes, which leaves no time to dick around with polystyrene for personal props. A bloo bloo bloo.

Getting called a bitch for telling people for the umpteenth time to stop trying to do parkour in the con area. We're staff. Your safety and the hotel's is one of the responsibilities we've been given, no matter how hard you may try to kill yourselves over the next three days. If you're dead-set on endangering yourselves by standing on each other's shoulders and doing backflips onto a god gamned flight of stairs, please do it a block away and don't mention the convention in any police reports.


There's also the shitty *insert popular fandom here* sailor scouts. We get it, you like Sailor Moon. Awesome. Please don't to any more cosplay crossovers. I'm surprised there hasn't been a Sailor Shrek by now.

I think PMX was selling Miku tickets this past year, but I didn't care enough to follow up on it since the line was mostly sweaty dudes that made me feel uncomfortable. Someone later told me that they started letting people in for free since the tickets were some ridiculous price and no one was buying them. Again, didn't follow up on that and it may have been pulled right out of their ass.

Your chances are fairly high. Just pay attention during after hours and talk to people who are already drunk and outside smoking cigarettes. Bonus points if they already smell like weed. Offer some cash for a sesh and you're most likely in. I ran around making deliveries at Katsu 2012 and ran out of stock within six hours. Just make sure that whoever smokes in their room is hotboxing in the bathroom and doing something for the smell. Ask to be sprayed down with Febreeze if they've got it before leaving the room. You probably already know this, but never toke up in your cosplays or loli dresses. The smell will stick forever.

Cosplay is not a super secret clubhouse for the nerdiest of nerds where you'll finally be accepted for what you truly are. It's a hobby. A weird hobby, but a hobby nonetheless. Who cares about the reasons behind someone dressing up like a fucking Chinese cartoon character and playing make-believe?

Never at a con where people can see, but sometimes after staffing cons due to exhaustion and relief that the stress is finally over. I've made a bad habit of not being able to say "no" when people task me with things or when everything goes tits up and I have to temporarily grab the reigns in order to steer the crazy train back onto the tracks. This leads to far too much stress and the urge to run away screaming near endgame.

If I'm just an attendee, I'm way too drunk to worry or cry about anything.
