When cosplaying barefoot characters I have a friend carry a pair of slip-ons in their bag so that I can wear them if my feet start to hurt, have to walk across the street, or walk on a littered sidewalk, etc. I keep barefoot 90% of the time since cosplay entails being noticed by others at the con, not just modeling for pictures. Meeting people, getting noticed in the crowd, and all that other fun stuff is a big part of cosplay too. Posing for photos is a deceptively small part of cosplay. Save that for your personal photo shoots.

Being barefoot also isn't that bad. Convention centers and hotels are very clean and usually have rugs or flat surfaces. Outside also can feel nice due to the warm pavement warming your toesies.

With that said, A proper Wreck-It Ralph costume should probably entail prosthetic feet anyway since the character has enormous appendages. You can get around being barefoot same as all those Hobbit cosplayers.

You speak as though being a fan of what you're cosplaying is some sort of irrational expectation. That's kind of what cosplay is supposed to be about.

And no, you don't have to be a child. But if you're tall and masculine you probably shouldn't be cosplaying tiny asian idols. A big part of good cosplay is consideration to your personal appearance.

There is no merchant that will sell you a mass-produced Link wig that will be "kickass". You'll have to make it yourself or get it commissioned from a skilled wig maker.

If they are peace bonded so they can't be removed from their sheeth, they are allowed. Otherwise metal weapons are not allowed. Most cosplayers make their "metal weapons" from other materials.

There are a lot of great, professional ways to do it, such as with fiberglass, but since you're a noob you can just mold it with craft foam and wonderflex.

Trying to permanently alter your body for the sake of lolita is not advisable. Having breasts will prove helpful one day when you actually do decide to get a boyfriend.

This is neither required nor immoral. When you buy something from somebody it becomes yours. You shouldn't be deceptive, but nobody has the obligation of name dropping who made what. If credit and praise is your goal, don't sell it.

When a convention policy refers to "live steel" they are referring to weapons and other objects that could cause someone bodily injury. Nobody at a con cares if you wear metal armor. Just ask the Monster Hunter or Dark Souls cosplay communities.

Every woman knows what it is like to struggle with their weight and we live in a society which is mostly overweight, so naturally women feel the pain of other women who are fat. Seeing a picture of a woman who is gorgeous can lead to jealousy, but seeing a picture of a fat person trying to look good leads to sympathy. We want to believe that a girl who is putting in an effort and probably has gone through a lot of emotional pain in life being that size can look good. The reality is she can't.

The ironic thing about lolita fashion is that many overweight women get into it because they believe that the illustrious clothing and accessories will supersede their normal appearance and allow themselves to look pretty, when in reality the delicate look and shapes of lolita clothing make the fat women appear much worse than normal fashions, not better.

There is no shortcut to beauty and flattery. If you are fat you need to lose weight. You will never look good until this happens. A thousand enabling lolita peers will not change this.
