Decided to toss in a variety of different looks. I know that

is cheating, and shit taste, but whatever. Can do an alternate non-hamsteak version if needed.

I'd probably be a lot better at this shit if I didn't have a really distinctive nose.

I don't have a picture of my actual latest JoJo costume, which also needs some details remade on it, so have my next-to-latest.

I am so angry that my skirt rotated itself while I was sitting down but oh well, I got the photo I wanted, so that's all good. I'm also probably going to redo the neck and shoulder straps; I am not entirely happy with how they turned out, and I think it'd probably look better if I added a bunch of buckles like in the ASB model.

if you're reading my blog to figure out that I'm getting my friend to cut foam, you would have also read that I am actually incredibly unhappy with the first applique piece. My second one is SIGNIFICANTLY better, and I'll be redoing the first one again as soon as I have the time, hopefully before AX. And I'm sewing my roommate's costume for her, so it's not like I'm doing nothing; she can't sew, I can, she can cut and paint things, I'm pulling an all-nighter to finish our jackets. It works out.

And as for group stuff... no, I'm not the highest level contributor, and I'll freely admit that, but at least I found the patches, picked the appliqué fabric, helped pick the initial pattern for the jacket, and designed the boottoppers for the group. Props are not my forte, and I'm really delighted to get to work with people who know what the hell they're doing, and (as always) I'll be crediting them for the work on designing how it worked.

Keep in mind the size actually varies slightly; Scouts are biggest, then wall and training, police is smallest. I have no clue why. (In this pic they're aligned top right.)

my absolute loathing of unsealed bodypaint is pretty well-known at this point. It's not people who cosplay Homestuck I have a problem with, it's the unsealed paint and immature activity, and that really isn't as Homestuck-specific as this thread thinks.

Yeah at last year's Otakon I got my prop snapped in half by an Alpha Dave. But a few years ago at AX I had my butterfly wings snapped in half by a glomper not even in costume, and the worst costume injuries I've ever had came from a FMA cosplayer. The only time I've ever gotten paint on my outfit that I couldn't wash off later was from a Final Fantasy cosplayer. And sure some of the crowds of Homestucks make me shake my head and wish they'd grow up a bit (and I'll admit it publicly)... but if it weren't Homestuck it'd be something else, because at that point I'm being annoyed by loud obnoxious teens being loud and obnoxious. There are plenty of underage Homestuck cosplayers in my local community who I quite like; they're kind and creative and really TRY on their outfits and now that most of them are starting to branch out into non-Homestuck, I can't wait to see what they do in the future.

Going BLAH BLAH FUCKING HOMESTUCKS is not going to help. What does help? When you see inappropriate behavior (and I mean actual inappropriate behavior, not just a person in a Homestuck outfit), go up and say in a calm authoritative tone "Hey. That isn't OK. Knock it off."

Because seriously, a lot of these kids really don't know what they're doing is wrong. I often take sealing supplies with me to seal down errant Homestucks, and all but one I've sealed had no idea that you need to seal because they just borrowed the grey paint from a friend.

It's really easy to bash the Homestucks because there are so many of them and so many of them do obnoxious things, but if you're older than them, focus on calmly pointing out what's wrong and on setting an example of good behavior. Homestuck won't last forever. Education does.

Today I made a hat pattern and most of pants and the wig for my friend's Gyro. Sorry for file size I am phone.

haha honestly i was thinking of going with the taken dialogue because it really DOES piss me off but the sealing people is what I actually do, because if there are errant unsealed homestucks they are a danger to everybody's costume and just yelling at them will not fix that. Sealing them for them with some stern words, that will.

A lot of my friends liked it and so I figured "what the hell, I'll read it". I liked it too. A few years later and I'm vaguely...horrified? when I think how much it exploded. (What's a word where you're both impressed and afraid at once? Because that's how I feel. Y'all are crazy.)

ANYTHING WHERE PEOPLE DON'T SEAL THEIR FUCKING MAKEUP. If I spot this, I will find you, I will inform you of what you're doing wrong, and if you're OK with it and I have the supplies in my bag I will powder you and seal you.

Some of the more rare designs for kids and trolls, intermission and exiles, and Guardians.

fuck i'm not sure if I have one anymore. I'd actually kind of like to do a Kurloz God Tier because those pants man (also I quite like purple), which I might do in the future (and I have at least one other HS outfit in the works), but honestly HS cosplay is not really my type of "dream" cosplay.

JoJo TV has the second highest BluRay sales for any of the shows airing in its season, even if there was a slight drop in sales from the first volume.

There wasn't a confirmation made in the initial plans for further than part 2, but considering the end of the part 2 anime and how ridiculously popular part 3 is, I think if they DON'T continue, it's most likely because Warner Japan hates money.

Yeah I agree... you obviously have a bit less leeway with things like pillar men but on the whold I'd much rather see someone with a wonderful costume and great makeup and posing who isn't build-accurate than someone with the right build who isn't otherwise selling it. Although honestly ANY JoJo makes me super happy.

yo silencedrowns here... yea I haven't done much Homestuck lately because I am more than anything from the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fandom and it's been exploding and I'm going to ride that wave of "WHAT, PEOPLE KNOW THIS?!" like it's 1890 and I'm horse racing for Jesus parts. Also there just haven't been any new designs that really inspire me, plus I really am trying to cut back on the costumes overall.

I do have one or two new homestuck things planned for the future, as part of a group-with-a-best-friend sort of thing, and I'll do my best to make those as good as possible, but I'm not and never have been a Homestuck blogger. I make costumes, I'll make tutorials, I'll talk to you about makeup, but I'm a JoJo and will never claim to be anything but.

also please don't put me on charts or whatnot... I like to do a good job on things and help people out because it's fulfilling for me, not because I want to be internet famous. (There's a difference trust me.) I'm a bit awkward and people trying to thrust me in some sort of spotlight makes me a little bit uncomfortable.
