St. Louis just down the street didn't have a line either.

The con has expanded exponentially over the years. So many more con-goers.

Definitely an idea for the next time.

Oh, definitely. They were glossing over various food prep standards and what not to get through the orders. There was some pretty unsavory stuff going on over the counter.

Do not eat there. There was various radio calls about people vomiting and likely many more that went unreported. A lot of the meat was undercooked, resulting in food poisoning. They really rushed to get those orders done, dude.

Most of them were in full on police uniform, with some wearing the addition of the REALLY BRIGHT GREEN VESTS. If they were out in the front, you could see them easily. A lot of the other ones were either in their cars off by the sides or standing behind the garage doors at Hall A.

They sometimes had three or more people at the security doors when the most they did was give a quick glance to see if you had a staff badge and then went back to what appeared to be mostly nothing.

Saturday night, I didn't mind that much. I could have preferred some other tunes but whatever.

Friday J-Rave, there was a lack of actual J-music. There was also K-Pop instead? I guess that's okay. I would have preferred a better DJ for that.

Speaking of which, one of the DJs on Friday was found with alcohol during the rave and was told he'd be kicked off the property if he was found with anything at the other events he attended on Saturday.

There are police at the con, albeit most of them are not really doing anything of note.

Don't make the subject or whatever else the same each time. They'll likely just shift click the e-mails and toss them. If you do one or two, they will only look at ones that actually grab their attention so still try more than just those.

>>6866652
I'll go ahead and point out once again that management enjoy the MLP/Homestuck fandom themselves, so if anyone is to mess with those ones, you can expect management to actually listen to the e-mails from those con-goers. Which means more security/staff posted at unnecessary panels for the next year instead of places that need it.

But if you're talking about furfags specifically? How many panels do they have now? You could probably get some of them to scare off but if you get "tattled on", expect to be harassed by staff while the furfag go back to the whatever. You're oversimplifying this in a way that the entire con doesn't function in.

I would suggest e-mailing staff continuously.

CONTINUOUSLY.

Get your shit organized with your other panelists, keep on e-mailing with the details, and post in Teahouse. I kid you not, one of the security higher-ups took three weeks to reply to a single e-mail of mine. I know you're not that fucking busy dude, especially how little security work you need to be doing months from AN. Management and others are likely the same way.

I don't mean if they've replied and flat out rejected you, you can e-mail back and (try to) discuss it. If they haven't replied, KEEP. ON. E-MAILING.

Yes, yes, yes. This. Listen to this guy right here.

Considering some of the other panels in this years schedule, I think that would probably get approved. Again, I'm not "in" with the management so it's up in the air, but you could work it so they'll be more likely to accept it. Just word it in a way that emphasizes how anime related it is and how much good it would do for people.

>> No.6866608 [View]

>>6866576
You really need to push it. There are some panels they will accept with no hassle but these people are real faggots. If they can refuse a panels they don't see as appropriate (subjective, of course) then they'll likely do it. Again, with the subjectivity, MLP/Homestuck are two of the biggest non-anime panels that get regularly accepted.

I'm a fan of Power Rangers myself and while it's not specifically "anime", it's still something I think people would very much enjoy attending. Push that shit like none other. Power Rangers, or rather sentai, is much more related to anime than those other panels.

>>6866582
Dude, I was blown away by that radio call. I know it's busy but come the fuck on. Do you want actual TCC management to tell con-goers to avoid your establishment? I said it before, but avoid the nearby places that are really packed. Some places will rush and make sub par meals with horrible service. Tim Horton's surprisingly was doing not that bad.

>>6866591
That's why you really have to push it. Given enough support, they WILL accept panels that deserve space. It's all about that con-goer incentive. Maybe not instantly, but we can slowly siphon out the non-anime stuff. Thing is, the con is getting more and more popular each year, and with these panels being approved in the current years, it's attracting MORE of the non-anime crowd. Okay, they might watch anime, but they're giving incentive to continue making these horrible panels.

Also, I highly recommend you guys do not eat at Harvey's, though you probably already don't want to wait in that line.

We had two calls over the radio about people vomiting at the Doubletree and Sheraton because of food poisoning from Harvey's (undercooked meat because Harvey's staff was rushing food prep) and there was likely many more unreported. There was no staff at the Sheraton to help the girl anyways so they had to radio in a bunch of people to head over.

Apply, apply, apply for those panels. Staff as well if you can find a job that you don't mind doing. Make sure things are going properly, stuff like that. Right now, I can't think of any good way to get the management to disintegrate because they're all such tight-knit asswads that they'll likely fight to refuse any people that would improve it. Having more anime/etc. panels instead of unrelated ones (or things like Otaku Weight Loss) would greatly improve the convention overall. People would actually be PSYCHED to go to more things instead of a panel here, a panel there, and then the other ones they want to go to either get shit all space or shut down early.

>> No.6866543 [View]

>>6866514
I would apply for management but it would either turn out that I don't have the right qualifications (...what qualifications, the people doing it now are hacks), or I would be turned down for the same reason some panels are turned down. Because the current management are jackasses that want to make sure that things go their way.

Some here and there are MLP/Homestuck fans so that's likely one of the reasons they accept those panels so readily. In fact, one of the supervisors I was helping was "in Homestuck cosplay" (it was a black skirt and black shirt) and she was offended when I didn't recognize it. I don't know, man.

Yes it does. I'm not a trigger discipline nazi, but it looks goddamn stupid in photos unless they are actually posing while shooting. That's like saying it doesn't matter when a Tavros cosplayer is holding their lance from the tip instead of the handle, a Strider holding their sword with two fingers, or a John holding the hammer of Zillyhoo upside down, etc. etc. Holding your prop right is all part of posing and cosplay. It's not hard to take your finger off of the trigger for a photo, so yes, it does matter. Don't get me wrong, those smug faggots commenting "hurrdurr trigger discipline!!11" every time some 14 year old gets posted is annoying, but I wouldn't go as far as saying holding a gun prop properly isn't necessary for cosplay photoshoots.

Though I agree with you to some point, there is a difference between pants made for girls, and pants made for guys. The shape is completely different, and a lot of ftms wear pants made for girls which only makes their hips/girly figure more apparent. You can have pants that don't show your curves whilst still making them fitted enough. At least, I think that's what the discussion's about anyway.

Sounds pretty good. I've been waiting for a good GHB for a very long time, he's probably one of my favorite HS designs. I hope you post progress pictures+end result here. Also, when combining the wigs, I recommend actually sewing the wigs onto one another for more volume (if you weren't already going to), and cutting some layers onto each wig so you can sort of spike it outwards, etc. The wig is where most GHBs go wrong (those fucking black mullets and bob marley wigs), so do be careful with that.

I'm really interested in your plans for this. What are you planning to do for the wig, in particular?

I actually suggest you looking for a drag queen maid dress, perhaps. Unless you're skinny or just don't have any muscle at all, you may have a tough time trying to fit any of the womens sizes. nicely and comfortably. (Also, try not to get a satin/shiny dress.)
