For someone who wants to like me you aren't trying very hard.

Yes, I left that part out since it was irrelevant to the post. Anon was talking about my fabric choice, so that was what I explained. I've mentioned that the bustle had issues staying up due to stupidity on my part. .Hell, I wrote a big rant about it on tumblr- it's not something i'm trying to hide.

I've said before that sewing has always had a presence in my household, since I grew up around quilters. The concept wasn't something foreign to me like it might be for some people, so I think it was easier to learn. If you look at my first costume it was pretty simple and came out kind of..crooked haha. I took reference from information I found online and had to remake parts like four times. It's not as if I made a ball gown the first time around or anything, though I will admit that I seem to have learned quickly compared to some others.

Even with this costume I had to remake parts a few times and struggled a lot with the sleeves. (I left that part out of my previous post too. Even though I had full pictures of my failure on my blog i'm obviously trying to hide it.)

I don't recall the exact dosage, I would imagine it was quite low, and it did taper down throughout the week I was on it. I will say that it was taken under a doctors exact directions, it wasn't something I just decided to take/stop all on my own.

>>6643191
Yeah, it's pretty awful. Thank you! I hope to fix up most of the problems for next time.

If you think I’m chubby that’s fine, everyone is allowed to have an opinion, I suppose. I will say that my weight hasn't changed at all since last year, so if I am chubby by your standards, it’s not a recent development.

I do have a very round face, that’s…well, obvious. And it’s a genetic feature, one that has nothing to do with my weight or medications that I’m taking. I’ve had it since I was little, my older brother has the same face shape, and so does my six foot 120lb aunt. It runs in my family. Also, If you are referring to prednisone, i'm not currently taking it (or any other bloat-inducing meds), I took it for one week (just a week) several months ago and apparently /cgl/ decided it was something I was on all the time.

My Sakizo/RMT costume is really unflattering, it’s a very wide costume which makes me look shorter and…stout, haha. This costume forces my body to match the teapot~ honestly I think it’s bulky-ness of the bustle paired with the way I patterned the corset and the boning I used. It's a shame, but I feel like the outfit matters more than how I look in it, so it doesn't bother me too much.

I used taffeta, and silk taffeta for the blue bits. I thought it had a nice drape and the color was so lovely I went for it. I’ll openly say it looks pretty awful in some lighting, as all shiny fabrics do, but I still think it suits the costume. You know, pin tucks didn't even occur to me, I just instantly decided to quilt them. I think that’s the cool thing about Sakizo stuff, everyone interprets the details differently. I’m sorry you didn't like some of my choices, though, anon.

Thanks for the positive comments, it makes me happy to know that a few of you like the things I sew.

Finally got these sleeves finished up and sewn on~
>>6620129
They are actually pretty comfy, but they aren't the shoes i'll be wearing with the finished costume.
>>6621029
Eh, after I got it all on I didn't really want to walk upstairs for a different pair. It's kind of sad that's all you take out of my progress but ok.

Ah I see. Yeah the bow is pinned weirdly in this, when I add the clips it will rest further away from the garment an have a more obviously bow like shape. Haha, the bust fits pretty well when padded, but since these were just tests I didn't bother with that.
>>6620069
Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it, it's what >>6620070 said.
>>6620079
Thanks, yeah it's a WIP. I'll ad a lacing paneling among other things.
>>6620082
Ahh, thank you so much! I'm excited to debut it too.

Finally got closures on the top and bustle, so I tried it on altogether! I have some things to finish/fix but i'm pretty happy with the results.

>>6616991
It's a Sakizo design.

>>6617014 >>6617042
I plan on it. Also, noted! I'll keep away from carpets and bring a lint roller.

>>6617133
Thank you! About that costume..well, pic related.

>>6619851
The fabric is a bit to shiny for my taste, but that draping is gorgeous! And I can relate to the snap thing, it's like they are begging to be sewn in upside down.

>>6618994
Wow, amazing job manipulating the fur! It looks really cute.

>>6618932
Is this Worbla? I've never seen it used for such elegant detailing, it's really lovely.

So I finally got this to a point where I could try it on, which was somewhat nerve racking. Luckily it fits so I can add the zipper, lacing, and hem the front. All that's left to conquer are the crazy sleeves which are the most time consuming irritating things ever. (And some trim, but trim is easy.)

I'll totally have it done for Katsu. For sure. Hopefully. Yeah.

Looks really nice!

I should be working on stuff for katsucon but this is so much more fun. I'm having issues with the stripes not lining up/varying in sizes, i'll have to see how noticeable it is once I add the gems before deciding if it needs to be changed.

Everything it kind of pinned together right now, the skirt looks a little bit better in person, I think, since the fabrics are gorgeous. (Raspberry colored cotton sateen with a lovely sheen and ivory silk). Waiting for my lace to arrive before I can sew that together.

1: No, not at all. Ordering on ebay is a bit of a hit or miss, wigs sometimes come out thinner or shiner then they appear in stock photos or the color may be slightly off. Shipping can take also take a really long time and due to poor packaging wigs often come tangled. But most shops are perfectly reliable and sell very nice wigs, there is nothing wrong with ordering a wig on ebay.

2: Measure your head ahead of time to make sure they will fit, if your head is larger than 22 inches you might want to consider a US based wig brand instead. Even if your head is larger most wigs should fit you (aside from pre-styled updos), but they might be a bit tight and require more bobby pins.

3: If you think it looks too shiny, then don't buy it.

>>6568215
I'd do a black wig to match the stitching or a platinum blonde. If you go with pink I think a milkshake color would look better.

>>6568273
GLW is a very popular brand, google or checking the archives should bring up many results. Most people think the wigs are overpriced considering the quality and I would tend to agree. Cosplaywig on ebay sells a few split wigs (I own two) and they are thick and gorgeous. Moemall on ebay also sells a couple, though I haven't ordered from them before, I have heard good things about them!

Why don't you make a circle skirt with a gathered / elasticized top? Simply cut your circle skirt with a larger waist size allowance then gather it down to the actual size of your waist. You can get a gathered A-line skirt that way.

It's made for Asian skin tones so yes, it's usually very yellowy / gray toned.

I love me too.

Stranger things have happened! Let's just say that there is a story behind how that costume came to be.

>>6558716
I haven't started scheduling things just yet, but if you message me on tumblr/DA (google Angela Cosplay and they should come up) i'm sure we can work something out!

> What's your day-day cosplay plans so far? completed any of them?
One of them is complete, the other three are around 85% finished. Planning is tentative but probably as pictured.

>Looking forward to seeing any cosplay celebs?
Not really. I'm more excited about seeing friends from past conventions.

>Where are you traveling from? how?
Going to take a little car trip from Long Island.
