Thats a good point! Since he isnt a "normal" character that meets pretty much year round, usually male actors who do other characters (Like aladdin Ive noticed) will do him on the side. The hair thing is a really good point, as I dont *think* they have to shave as long as they dont have thick hair (though the chest they do)

Heres another outfit of his. Hes still wearing the tights but Im pretty sure this is his cold weather outfit so that makes sense

Oh yeah, like I said, by no means is my experiences with DCP a mold that they all follow. Honestly, the only bad DCPs Ive met were all in entertainment, the ones in all other lines of work were great.

Ariel actually doesnt wear the illusion top all the time. For example when she meets in fin at MK she doesnt. I know she wears it in soundsational! (the pic you posted) because of where she is placed and because of the general look and design of the parade (it has rhinestones on the "skin" area)

I havent quite figured out why Mowgli wears that thing....At first I thought it was the whole man chest thing, but Tarzan when he does meet doesn't have the shirt or tights etc etc. He does have hilarious tourist sandles though. My best guess (and seriously, just a guess because I cant think of anything else) is because the character is underage and they wouldnt want an underage character showing that much skin? Idk, I know technically ariel is underage too but thats all I can come up with. Hes outfit also covers less than ariel's mermaid version too though.

I might ask some friends and see if they know. I doubt it, but some one might surprise me lol.

Oh god I totally agree. Its cringe worthy. Tomorrow Ill have to post some particularly bad princesses designs/dresses (at least in my opinion). But yeah I get "why" its like that but it does not make it any better. Some where I do have a picture of a bare chested Mowgli from what looks like maybe a parade at AK...and its so much better. If I can find it Ill have to post it. Okay seriously out of here now (or at least browsing on mobile until I sleep lol)

Alright folks, Im heading off to bed! If this thread is still alive tomorrow, Ill be around! I leave you with a character who was out today at MK and is pretty rare...Mowgli! Wish I could of seen him and his funny body suit and jazz shoes!

Yeah I totally agree. I feel bad for the good 75% of DCP they get a bad rep and bad hours. I think it should be reinvented because in theory it is a great program, just needs some fixing up.

Oh for sure. I remember one girl in particular when we were working a character breakfast was just a horrifying Belle. I dont know how true it is but apaprently a little girl was crying because Belle "didnt pay attention to her....even though they 'met' earlier that day" which as we know was a different girl but its a HUGE no no to just go "I dont remember you". I didnt see her again after that, I did hear she was transferred to attractions though.

Haha thanks! I love talking to fellow CMs too, past or present! One of my best friends Ive met through (traditions) is in housekeeping and though we dont share the same jobs or schedules we love going into the parks together! And if you ever do...please do!

No, I totally agree with you. I hate to say negative stuff about them, because a lot of them are great and want to be there and work, sadly they just aren't the majority. It does totally suck, I would never do the DCP after seeing the shit hours they get and such. I mean Im not a huge fn of my hours either and during extended hours/special events like halloween and christmas I work WAY more than Id like. It is exhausting, and I do understand WHY they lash out...but at the same time thats why they get the bad reputation.

Ahhh good old Pizzafari! That sounds great though, and like I said some of them are the greatest. Ive noticed though the DCP kids Ive loved were all NOT in entertainment so that may have something to do with it. The DCP that work in entertainment are the ones that usually have the shit attitude I cant stand. Its a weird trend but Ive noticed they tend to have the "its all about me being the princess" and not the "its all about the guests meeting the princess" if that makes sense

Ive heard of people regifting them, but I think thats kinda weird so I usually keep them haha! Usually its like drawings or letters so I like to keep those close to me. I love getting stuff though, one time the sweetest little girl gave me one of those braided friendship bracelets you make it like girlscouts and it made me want to cry she was so precious and so excited that she could tell all her friends that Snow White was her friend and she has the bracelet to prove it haha. I also always gave characters coloring pages/drawings when I was younger, so that may be why!

>>6839985
Hey, thats all that matters in the end! Glad to hear it and keep it up!

Ugh DCP gives some of us the worst image. I mean yes they're college kids but they're my age or older and they just act so irresponsibly. Im not trying to come off holier than thou but when I dated "Tiana" we were as professional as possible. Like we ate lunch together and held hands in the ultiadors occasionally, and that one peck, but we kept all other things outside the parks completely. Yeah I remember it being addressed too and I was like "okay easy" but you spend so much time with the same people its kinda hard NOT to be interested in some.

>>6839959
Sadly, big defining features are hard to get hired with. Mostly because you wont look like the other girls who do the same character and that could ruin the illusion for kids. That doesnt mean you shouldnt try though because I by no means speak for disney casting or who they'd cast. Its cliche, but even if things dont turn out perfectly it really is a good experience.

Awh its still okay! Secret time, sometimes Im still afraid IVE said something completely dumb (and a lot of the times I do haha). Seriously though as weird as it may sound we love reactions like that from adults, it reminds us that the magic is still there for older guests (than kids) and just is great. You prolly made Beast's day, that guy doesnt get enough love! I went to see one of my friends while I was still in training and I was so awkward meeting her and I felt so stupid because come on, I know the girl. Sigh. I was also so giddy and speechless meeting Gaston for the first time, thankfully his friends are some of the best improvers and actors I have EVER met! So yes, you're not alone!

Yeah Ive seen girls get away with their profile pictures on FB being them in character but Id never be that brave. I love my job and would hate to endanger it so blantly. Ill shoot you an email now! :)

Yeah as long as we behave on set, and dont post lewd stuff on FB they dont care what else we do. The manager I worked with a lot was super chill as long as you were good at your job and super fun off set and out of the parks. A lot of the characters inter-date its kinda super freaking weird. I dont even know. Haha we are SO scary in between sets, Im so sorry you had to see that haha!!

>>6839930
Awh yeah, photopass is great, Im sorry it wasnt explained to you sooner! You didnt say something dumb dont worry, the whole "what is technology" thing always throws people off haha! You were lovely though, and great people like you always make our sets awesome!

Sure! If you dont mind, if you add your email to your response Ill shoot you an email! I dont have skype or anything else lol, and dont want to post my own simply because Im still a little paranoid though I doubt my bosses browse cgl haha! I hope you dont mind that though!

Haha, I dated a fellow princess before, and we were very careful about showing PDA even in the utiladors but once we snuck a peck and I remember this look on a Haunted Mansion host and it was just princeless. I love seeing characters making out in the locker rooms though. Horrible of me? Yes, but hilarious! That does kill the magic but when Im in the parks I tend to push that to the back of my mind lol

Yeahhh that kind of shit happens all the time. People like that have the worst attitudes when it comes to suits because "ew hot and sweaty not a pretty pretty princess" but honestly I LOVE doing suits. Its a blast. I was/am sometimes friends with Pluto, Eeyore, and Rafiki a lot and they're the greastest. Pluto is my dawg *ba dum tish*

>>6839897
Oh man yeah. Im all over the place usually lol. Sometimes I work in MK then haul ass over to EPCOT for another shift or visa versa, I hate it because sometimes there is awesome people like you and I love seeing familar faces and repeat interactions. BUT Im really glad that we are talking now and that you didnt think I was weird/nuts and got it haha! Oh yeah Im pretty sure I know who you talked to and she is the best fairy godmother ever! I did get a text from her asking if I met with you...I have to text her and tell her whats going on now she'll get a kick out of it!

Nope! Dancing/movement is considered for sure. You dont always learn a dance combo but if you do its sooooo simple. Movement is to see if you could do well in suits. If they think you couldnt do suits, they wont hire you for face.
They do have seperate auditions for character roles that require a lot of dance skill like shows, or singing roles in shows too. They are not as commonly listed, but they do come up!

>>6839824
No problem! As weird as it sounds I cant talk about this kind of stuff to my friends because they either work at disney already or just dont care, haha! I love talking about the "behind the scenes" stuff! Yes! When anyone says they are friends with or hanging out with a character, that means they are/have portrayed them. We are not allowed to say that we ARE a character on like social media because it can ruin the illusion that we ARE the character, if you get what I mean. They just dont want kids seeing it or people that would loudly be like "Oh HEY anon" when you're in character and ruining it for kids. Another example would be even if Mickey were to appear in 3 different parts of MK or MK and Epcot at the same time, there is only ONE Mickey Mouse...he's just really good at changing fast ;)

Anyways DCP provides a lot of the "seasonal" roles. They want full commitments when they are hiring for characters. Too many people are trained and then quit when they realize how much work and commitment is involved and it has become quite the problem.
DCP is hit or miss. Usually when I work with another girl and I think they have a bad attitude...they're DCP. Idk they just have a different mentality or something. I hate to enforce the steryotype of regular CMs not liking DCP but I havent had the best of experiences with them...though of course some have been lovely! I cant help much with DCP, I dont know a lot about it at all. Im sure you could research it though and find out more about the application process, especially when it comes to entertainment position, Ive heard of forums dedicated to it. Checking the audition website too wouldnt hurt, sometime DCP only auditions are listed.

Sorry that was so much, I hope I answered your questions well enough! Let me know if not! :)

5'9" is a little bit tall, your acting/dancing/moving skills would have to be pretty spot on. By no means does it mean you wont be hired (Im honestly a bit tall too) it just limits who you can do. Size is hard...like its not about the number but how you "look". Kinda like how some size 6-8s look "plus sized" some dont. I know usually for your/our height though, size 6-8 look healthy and natural on us so I wouldnt worry about that. If the scarring can be covered up by stage make up, it shouldnt matter.
Personality affects it a lot I think. Once you make it past the type casting they talk to you, and Ive learned that they look for how you talk/what you say a lot. Like how personable you are. They do watch how you interact with other people auditioning secretly too. If you're snobby and not friendly, they will consider that strongly. Ive seen a lot of 16-17 year olds show up with the whole "everyone at school thinks Im pretty im a PERFECT princess" and they never make it because no matter how fake they are to the directors, they see their true attitudes in casual interaction when they think no one is watching.
Parents usually will be harder than kids. Some parents are perverted which is a challenge, some are grumpy and bitchy, and some are entitled. Usually the handlers will engage them so we can focus on the kids which is nice.
Haha! I love questions like this! Community underwear USED to be true yeaaaaaars ago! it isnt anymore, though as I mentioned most of our bras for face characters are built in and while our costumes are SUPER clean some people are weirded out about that lol. The cats are true in CA I think, though theres not that many and they only come out at night! Club 33 is true to! Ask me more about urban legends, I love them haha!
Yes they do. Thats where all the 16-17 "preppy" girls come out. Volume does increase for sure. And if you SAY at the audition you will only work a season I can promise you wont be hired. Ill continue this in part 2

Hi there! Thank you! It hasnt ruined it for me at all! Some days I like to just rest but a lot of the time I do enjoy roaming the park! If my friends are working I like to wait and line and have fun with them because you never know if they're having a bad shift or not! Yeah I know how a lot of the magic happens, but it's helped me appreciate all the tiny details so much more, and also all the hardwork everyone puts into it every day to keep it Alive!

Haha, here we go!
I've been friends with Aurora, Snow, Mary Poppins, Jane, Vidia, and Cinderella! I quite like Mary Poppins because she attracts an older crowd and was one of my favorite movies growing up as well! She's different than typical face characters and I love the change. I've done a lot of suits too!

The other girls are just excellent out of character! I've made some of the best friends through this. The bitchy or snobbish ones are a pain but I've also noticed that they don't last that long.

Pros and cons. Pros: free entry into the parks, discount on stuff in the parks, doing a job I love, meeting great people, performing for a living, working for a great company. Cons would be long hours, the heat, the occasional terrible guest, people having a distorted perception of what you're like "out of character"

Ahhh kid experiences. 90% of the kids are super cute and sweet or just terrified/star struck. There's a 10% that's stressful, the ones who try to wipe boogers on you, show you their underwear, pull your "hair" ect.. Really just kid stuff, but in character it can be hard to wiggle out of that interaction. Of course there are brats but the really bad ones our handlers will usually step in and control more firmly since they don't have a character to stay in. Most of bad experience come from asshole teenagers trying to unzip your costumes or grab your ass. Or drunk parents. Suits tend to attract jerks too.

Memorable moments.. The one with the older lady when I was friends with Poppins is my favorite. I posted it a bit earlier in the thread! Grandmas are the cutest though.

I've answered a few questions in this thread actually, it's the first one I've posted with a trip at least. Mostly stuff about auditions and what they "look for" but by all means ask away! I don't mind at all, as long as you don't mind my replies being slow haha!

Hey there, yes we do have to put on that make up. Don't blame us, it's what were told to do, and it is because in 90% of pictures (and when on stage/parades) it just looks better. Now were seeing more people with more professional cameras in the park and that's where the heaviness of the make up really shows.

I'm sorry, I'm at work and mobile is slow. I'll be on later tonight though.
