Not a horror story, but at EXPcon I went to Troy Baker's panel like always and he called up Vic McHedgehog. So he asked the audience if they wanted to invite him to the panel, course the hambeasts do their mating calls and wailed like no other. So a few minutes later McHedgehog enters the room and basically stole the panel cause all he really does is talk about himself. Troy was just standing their awkwardly or sitting on the table like ''Yeah....dis fucking nigga''. Even with his panel with Aaron Dismuke, he would tell Aaron's stories instead of Aaron telling us himself. Aaron was late to the panel cause he overslept but even so he woke up for nothing if he can't talk cause McHedgehog wants to talk ALL THE DAMN TIME.

Oh man, that's a toughie. One year I was lucky and went to 10-12 cons. Last year was a horrible year, I only went to like, 4. The 4 I went to were small things, except Metrocon and Shadocon.

>How much do you usually spend going to a convention?

When I went to Megacon 2 weeks ago, I paid the whole thing out of pocket and spent about 300-350 on it. I never worry about food because I never eat at cons. Like on the saturday of Mega, I woke up at 6:30 am, ate a banana, then went to bed at 3:30 am.
But usually I can spend about 150-200, depending on the con and how many people I room with. Maybe even 100. I went to Mega 2011 with $90, and came back with $40 (I had to pay my share of the room.)

OP....is that supposed to be you...my biggest advice to you is not to scream in the halls. People will kick you in the face. Do not scream over yaoi. People will throw things at you. Just behave yourself. That is all. No, seriously. Behave.

It's an overall fun experience. I've been going to Metro the past 5-6 years. Just go talk to people. We're all there for common interests, so there's an ice breaker right there. I used to be superdupershy cause I was homeschooled and I used conventions to break out of my shell. It was hard at first but now I know plenty of people in the convention community. I think you're going to enjoy yourself. A lot. You're gonna see all this awesome stuff and everything, just behave yourself. You're gonna get a great experience out of this. Enjoy every minute of it!

Anyways...

The video game room will smell bad. If they have dance central there, then it will smell worse. Everyone waving their arms and whatnot with the smell of underarms, eh just no. Which emphasizes on showers and deodorant.
The artist alley is cool. Sometimes you can find really neat things there. Depends on what you;re looking for and your taste. You can make some small talk with the artist's, some of them are really nice and look bored to deaths I'm sure they don't mind having someone to talk to (if they're not busy).
When you take photos of cosplayers, btw, don't block the halls, if you can help it. It's annoying when its super crowded and everyone wants to get through and there's that one person who blocks the hall with their 10 minute picture. Don;t be that guy. I know sometimes you can't help it, its understandable.
Saturday will be the most crowded. The escalators will be completely full all the time til later in the day.
If they have zombie wars this ear. GO TO IT. Its really fun, if you like the whole zombie vs mercenary thing. At least, I enjoyed it every year.
Keep hydrated! The vending machines run out pretty quickly by the bathrooms so bring plenty of water with you. And don't forget to nibble on something every so often.
Bathrooms can be really full sometimes.
Don't hug the homestucks. They're the obnoxious gray things in the halls. You never know if the paint is sealed or not, so try to stay away from them.
Speaking of hugs, its okay to hug people IF YOU ASK FIRST (except homosuck). Just go up to them and say ''I'm sorry to bother you, but may I have a hug?'' or whatever, and usually they say yes. Thank them then walk away. If they give you a weird look and don't move, just walk away.

Misc.:
Bring your own shampoo and soap! I always bring my own shampoo and soap when I go to cons so I can shower in peace without the idea of anyone else using my stuff. Bring your own towels as well. When you room with a bunch of people, towels run out really quickly.
Talk to people. Con people are usually nice friendly, at least with my experience. Of course, there are bitches and whores and whatnot, but don't let that ruffle your feathers, seagull.
There are plenty of girls that think if you look in their direction that you want to rape them. They will call you creepy. Even if you aren't doing anything.
If you wanna take a picture, just ask kindly like ''Excuse me, may I take a picture?". That's not creepy. When you're done, thank them then walk away.
For the rave, they check your belongings and pockets. So don't bring anything stupid in there.
At the Dealer's Room, don't buy anything on Friday. Try to haggle down the prices, if you can. Your best shot is on Sunday, when they wanna throw their shit at you. First, on friday, walk around the entire room, see what catches your eye. Keep in mind what you want and how much it costs with the different vendors. Then on sunday, if your item of desire is still around, try to haggle it down. If its 20, try maybe 15 or 17 or something like that. What I did once was I had 10 dollars in my wallet and the rest in my pocket, and when I pulled out my 10 I showed the dealer my empty wallet "I don't have anything left :(" And instead of charging me 15 he charged me the 10. Don't forget to be nice to them, small chat, whatever. There's a vendor with these chinese people, don't bother lowering with them. I went to them on sunday and saw this girl trying to lower the price but they insisted NO NO REGUWAR PWICE. YOU BUY OR GO. NONO, PWICE AS IS.
Of course, if you have plenty of money to spend on souvenirs, then by all means buy whatever you want with the regular price. It feels good sometimes to splurge a little.

Which hotel are you staying at, anon? If you're at the Embassy, prepare your anus to wait forever if you take the elevators. The wait time for that shit is awful, since there are only 4 elevators for the entire hotel. I think some of the worst times if check-in on friday and check-out on sunday. Those days are extremely hectic since there is usually no room on the elevator cause everyone wants the little bellhop luggage carts.

Food:
Bring your own food. There is a food place in the convention center itself, however it is expensive. I think a small little titty pizza is like, 8 bucks, I believe. There is actually a publix real close by, so you can attack that and buy some food from there. If not, google map the area and look for food places. The convention guide will give you some pizza and sub places nearby, too.

Clothes:
You say you want to wear the same clothes the whole weekend. Well, if you do shower very well and wear plenty of deodorant and you don't run around, it shouldn';t be a problem, honestly. If you just walk around in the convention center you shouldn't really sweat. Whenever I stroll around I don't sweat until I run around. If you go outside, without a doubt you're gonna begin to sweat but nothing like a waterfall. Its fine. But if you just want to be safe, sniff the underarm area of your shirt. If its funky, scrub that area with some soap and water, then leave it over the a/c machine to dry or if you have nothing to do at night try drying it with the hair dryer.

Foodwise, I mentioned in the Bookface event some places. There's also a Cici's Pizza thing up International Drive. Let's see....there's golden corral. denny's, checkers, popeyes, chipotle, moes....from what I remember so far. There's a whole foods, publix, and super walmart just west of the I-4.

Nigga this ain't the best convention at all.

I'm going for the whole weekend. The last con I went to was Animate Miami and that was only for Saturday. Megacon isn't worth the weekend pass so I'm only buying the Saturday pass.

I'm looking forward to doing stupid shit with friends there. Adventuring with friends around International Drive. Dancing and random shenanigans.

I'm going to cosplay Asami Sato from LoK only. I didn't really sew anything else since school stuff is in the way.

Yeah, fuck Denny's. I'm going to Anthony's Coal Fired pizza yes or yes. There's a Golden Corral up the road with plenty of seats, maybe there?
