~ I was recently buying cupcake print fabric to make some sweet skirts to sell when this pleb soccermum walks by and audibly comments under her breath how "bloody disgusting" my choice in fabric was, she then procceds to buy meters of the fugliest fluro rickrack she could find, I'm suprised I managed to contain my laughter. I understand that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but some people are just retards.

Granted this didn't make me angry, as no one meant any harm by it, but...

Like I said, no one meant any harm, there were lots of compliments and cooing sounds, but it was weird that lolita and a cute dog kind of break down that social barrier that prevents us from just touching total strangers or their animals without permission.

I've already done something sort of similar. She claims to be a "classically trained musician" to damn near everyone, so every time I see her playing a piano at my uni since, I make it a point to outplay her. Usually with anime music. And then I make sure to tell her that I've only been playing for a year.

I've only ever had normalfags be interested and enthusiastic with me when I'm in cosplay, never anything rude, but my lolita friend tells me people are always asking her if it's Halloween or if she's in a play. She says she tells them she's in Hamlet, and they believe her and start asking about where to come see her.

The only cosplay thing I can remember happening was helping a friend during a photoshoot downtown; she was in a D.Gray-Man costume, and we happened to be in front of a church taking photos when some random guy came up and started telling us we were evil and spreading Satan's will.

I'm genuinely surprised people encounter so many French people who are this stuck up about their language. I've met several French tourists here in the States who have been really apologetic for their crap English, and while I was travelling in France (in the south and in Paris), most people were quite kind to me and patient with my really rusty and limited French. I can only remember one instance where I tried speaking English first and had the guy act like he couldn't understand; once I switched to trying to say something I didn't really know how to say in French and started butchering it, he immediately responded in pretty good English presumably so I'd stop the torture, haha.

This. I had a partner whose depression, at its worst, meant he was super short tempted and often got drunk to cope with it. Despite being an "angry person" and getting drunk and sometimes breaking his stuff, he never, ever touched me, and even though he snapped at me during those times I was never scared he'd actually do anything.
