I'm daily and I live in a country with winter lasting atleast a half a year so I have multiple. I have two short coats, two long ones and a cape. One of the long ones can be easily washed (they get dirty easy) and I mainly use the other one in "better" occasions. I would consider how easy do you need the cleaning to be, do you need a warmer one or would a short one do, do you need a collar or spesific material and lastly what's the design you like the most. It's easier to have few, mine are black and pink and it works for most of my wardrobe and the rest of it it's just doesn't .

>Must be long
>Must match most of my wardrobe (e.g. not pastel)
>Must have a cape with a hood

I own a proper waterproof, goose-down parka for the particularly nasty days. I live in New England so I need to wear the parka for about half of winter season, and my AaTP coat is for days where it's not snowing/freezing rain. If I lived in the Mid-Atlantic (where I grew up) I'd probably own 3 or 4 brand coats but where I am now, it's not worth it to shell out the $ for outerwear that I can't wear often.

Do you think yahoo auctions is slowly dying like mbok? Mercari and fril are already battlefields of who has the fastest SS, but why don't japanese lolitas want to earn more money by giving it to the one who offers the most?

I believe there will always be a market for yauctions though. Yahoo japan in general is pretty strong, so I think japanese lolitas will stay loyal to their auction system and continue doing the fril/mercari selling by the side.
It more depends whether lolita in Japan is dying as a whole or not desu.

I remember that, but the huge difference here is that >>9973793 is actually sitting in the trash, posed and smiling, ie -- the picture of "I'm trash lolita" looks fully intentional, like the photo wants to convey a message to you.

The Canadian lolita simply had trash in the background. It looked more like she didn't realise there was trash in the photo and uploaded it, then when folks pointed it out she got stubborn and defensive and posted more photos of trash (still in the background, doesn't look intentional), which is a surefire way to have anons pissing on her attitude rather than her actual photos.

I actually don't like >>9973793, the lighting is so bad, the composition looks poorly thought out, the whole thing comes across as an amateur attention grab. If you're reading this: girl with CDC solid tights just don't work with that dress at all , the color isn't the issue. Get some sax and navy socks or navy and gold. Girl with Hello Kitty creepers - no, just no. They are cute shoes yes but they just don't go with 99% of lolita. Get some real lolita shoes. Girl with floral ubderbust skirt - never wear that blouse again, get a nicer one, and don't follow that Mori inspo coord pic. Got my first brand cardigan (Baby), and it's the itchiest shit I have ever worn in my life. If I'm not wearing a longsleeve blouse/op with it, it is unbelievably uncomfortable. I thought it might've been the previous owner's washing powder, so I rinsed it a few times myself but no change.
I've tried to put up with it a few times because it's cute, and sometimes new fabrics can just feel weird, but it's definitely wirey and itchy, like an old granny jumper. I've taken it off and put up with being cold just to avoid the feeling.

I got it second hand, so I don't know if this is the standard for Baby's cardigans. Are other brands softer? Am I just really unlucky?
I'd like to get more brand cardis because they're really cute but the first experience has definitely scared me off a little.

I just received this dress from Sheglit in the mail and I'm extremely confused at the sizing. For reference I'm 163cm tall and my measurements are on the small side. The dress is weirdly long on me, going down to about the middle of my calf and every measurement, from the shoulders to the armholes is visibly too big. I actually had my boyfriend who is 190 cm try the dress on and on him it looks like it does in the stock picture. It fits him better than me. I'm highly disappointed and I wanted to warn anyone who is petite and interested in buying from Sheglit to carefully consider.

I looked at the bust and waist which are on the big side but workable because of the apron. The length stated on the store page is 97.5 cm which I'm not sure is actually accurate because I own dresses with a longer skirt length measurement that are shorter on me. I think part of the length issue is in the torso, which isn't listed as a measurement.

>> No.9979461

>>9979455
Huh. That is strange. You can't really judge the fit from the stock photo because it's on a legless mannequin rather than a human model, but admittedly it is weird that the length measurement is inaccurate like this.
Not so sure about the other measurements though - Judging by the photos the apron does give the dress more shape but I'm not sure it was wise to rely on it to make the dress significantly smaller anywhere other than the waist, though again, assuming the other measurements aren't also wildly inaccurate.

Daughter legit looks like 17/18. I don't know how I should feel about the fact that a child-just turned teen modeled for JetJ. Makes me wonder about the age of those Russian models they use for their onlineshop and I really don't want to support child labor.

I buy from Sheglit regularly, I'm glad their newer stuff is long. I have slightly older pieces that are a little short for my taste. Below knee to mid calf length is just better looking for gothic, it's more elegant

>support child labor

Modeling isn't child labor, unless Japan doesn't have laws regarding how long a 13 year old can be kept in a studio. Popteen and ageha models reportedly had to endure 10-12 hour photoshoots but I don't think that's the case for
this girl.

At least her parents haven't pimped her out to Japanese pedophiles for those creepy junior idol gravure shoots.

Does anyone own the Melty Sky OP? If yes, how's the sizing?

According to lolibrary the shoulder width is about 34cm, which is tiny even for AP. My shoulders are 37cm. Since it doesn't have shirring, I guess that's too much then?

That sounds like a Baby wool cardigan. What were you expecting from wool?

I personally don't like wool much myself, so I tend to wear longsleeve blouses under them. If it still bothers you, just sell it and pay better attention to your material next time.

Anyone just feel "dumb" in lolita? I have that almost everytime i come back with friends not wearing it (or sometimes even by myself in a crowded place) and i just feel "out of place".

Get some space bags with a sliding zipper and squeeze all the air out of your petticoats and clothes too if you need the space. You'll have to de-wrinkle things afterwards but you can fit a ton of stuff that way.

As the other anon mentioned, space bags are great. Another thing I recommend doing is bringing a big roomy tote for your carry on. You can place your purse in here, any extra shoes you may be bringing, and a jacket so you can carry them around the airport without having to wear them, or letting them put your luggage weight over capacity. Despite being filled with various things, even other bags, the tote will technically count as one item.

Lilly of the Valley on Etsy is good quality. I have her China-print dress and it is very good quality. My only warning is you should pay attention to how she models her own products; her dress cut is very much her own kind of fit; it really emphasizes your waist. Personally I like that, because I have an hour glass figure and often don't look as good in the "classic" AP bodice that ends above the smallest part of the waist (it's a cut that looks more "youthful" but on a more "womanly" curved figure it can make you look fatter then you are).

EMS or airmail? Airmail is normal, it's the "pleb fare" so it gets bumped off when VIP EMS packages fill up all available cargo space.

EMS, usually either (a) it got a new tracking number (check track-trace.com, it'll usually tell you that), or (b) customs decided not to scan a package that arrived so it doesn't look like they're sitting on their asses not processing it. If it's the second, call your country's post office and ask if you should report it missing, usually gets them off their butt and they'll speed it through (only for EMS. airmail you'll probably be told to wait).

Other shipping companies, no idea, you may need to contact them if it doesn't move after a while.
