A thread to warn others about sellers that scam, scalp, and have otherwise bad business practices.

Raines, gemgem, and shiri are staples.

Does anyone know anything about cherry_sp? Do they actually wear lolita at all or do they just scalp bodyline? Sometimes I see them buying a bunch of Wunderwelt's garbage on lacemarket, do they scalp that too?

Lovelyladylock is a pretty sketchy seller. She has feedback for not listing stains and damages, leaving bad feedback when you don't pay right away. Not to mention she doesnt actually list the names of anything on her listings, and initially just tried to sell it all on one large posting not listing the conditions of individual items.

Just checked her feedback, looks like someone's been scammed by her recently. I'm glad I didn't buy from her when I got bad vibes even though she had an OP for sale I wanted.

>> No.9962085

>>9961820
>Buyer: Seller is a scammer. Left negative feedback after receiving payment, originally asked me to send money without sending an invoice. Avoid at all costs.
>Seller: I've sent payment requests, an invoice, even a second invoice request. This buyer has accused me of being an untrustworthy seller even though I have great reviews. I'm trying to complete the sale but the lack of communication and unwillingness to pay for the item is making it hard to ship in timely manner.
Tbh that sounds like the buyer didn't pay or played around and then got butthurt because they received negative feedback. Or it's a misunderstanding where both sides reacted with anger instead of trying to find a solution.

>> No.9962088

>>9962085
If you read other feedback it looks like lovelyladylock immediately leaves negative feedback if you don't pay right away.

>. I received negative feedback after not paying for only one day after having won the auction. Nothing anywhere stated payment had to be made within a day.

This is in her first feedback. If you look back in her listings she doesn't list a time frame and it sounds like she has a pattern of leaving negative feedback right away. Sounds sketchy.

Hello, I'm the person who left the most recent feedback on her profile. I have a long history on selling and buying on both Lacemarket and /cgl/, and this was the first absolutely bad experience I ever had.

First of all, the seller asked me to send her the money without sending an invoice of any kind. The seller said it had been a "few days" without payment but it had only been one day, as I bought the listing on 8/2 and the message saying I hadn't sent her over payment(without being prompted) was on 8/3. I explained to her I did not feel comfortable sending over the money without one, and so she sent one over the next day. I was invoiced 8/3 and paid on 8/4 and on 8/5 she left negative feedback saying I hadn't paid. Naturally I assumed this person was a scammer since they left bad feedback after already being paid the day before, and so I left feedback accordingly and opened up a paypal claim. As soon as I opened up the claim she did refund me, but insulted me multiple times insisting that she had nothing but good feedback when the proof is there that she has done similar things to other people. I called her a scammer in response to these actions.

I am more than happy to give screenshots of all of this as proof if asked. But I have contacted lacemarket mods and provided them with screenshots as well as to how poorly this seller handled the situation.

It certainly was the most unpleasant transaction I ever had. here's proof of my payment on 8/4 and her message saying she'd send over the invoince on 8/3 as well as her bad feedback being left on 8/5 as well as the refund that I requested as soon as I saw she left it that morning that she quickly gave to me. I removed all names on here to comply with cgl rules but you can easily go to my or her page to see the feedbacks and purchase date of the item.

>> No.9962179

>>9962148

Are you sure about this? I thought so too, but I tried emailing Tokyo Alice asking if the accounts were connected and never got a response. I've also ordered from Tokyo Alice before and never received such a misrepresented item.

I thought 5k reviews was good enough to trust. The JSK I got literally had HOLES in it that weren't pictured or mentioned. Like 5 or 6 rips. There was a huge discolored spot that was also not pictured. It was a waste of $200 and I'm still sour about it because there's no purchase protection for yahoo auctions jp. Never again. I don't even know how they thought a $200 price tag was merited. It was the kind of damaged shit that Wunderwelt would sell on LM for $40.

I wondered if native Japanese people were too kind/timid to leave negative reviews because yahoo jp lets sellers retaliate against buyers by withdrawing postive feedback.

I'm not saying the seller isn't crazy, but you kind of overreacted on the invoice thing, there's nothing really wrong with sending money on paypal without an invoice unless you're sending as friends and family.
>>9962179
This bothers me too. It's stupid because the vast majority of people on LM SHOULD have their paypal email updated. I still get sellers asking me to "confirm" it... just send the invoice and if they don't pay within a day ask them if it was wrong. Don't bother every single buyer when most of them have it right.
In general I hate unnecessary messages on LM. My ideal transaction:
>purchase item
>invoice sent promptly to my paypal address
>I pay invoice within 24 hours
>within 3 days, tracking number is uploaded to paypal so I know it's shipped
>receive item
>leave feedback
I really hate all the unnecessary messages. I don't need to be thanked for winning, my paypal email is right, I don't need to know that you will ship it out tomorrow after lunch but before you take your grandma to bingo. I'm sure a lot of people on here hate me though because I don't respond to most of these frivolous messages people send.

>> No.9962704

>>9962700
I don't think saying I feel uncomfortable without an invoice is overreacting. I have never paid for an item in that manner, and I expect the sellers I deal with to be professional enough to send an invoice. It would be different if I was someone she had previously known, like someone in her comm and it was more of an informal transaction but that's not the case. I would expect it from anyone trying to sell their things secondhand, on ebay, depop, mercari, whatever. At that point in time, I wasn't accusing her of anything. Once I requested it she said it was fine and that she would send one. After she lied saying I didn't pay her when I already had is when I accused her of being a scammer. Mods have sided with me on lacemarket and the situation is resolved.

Lacemarket guidelines say the seller has to send an invoice. It's not handholdy for someone to expect another person to follow the rules of the website they are using to make a sale.

>Q: How do I pay a seller/invoice a buyer after a listing is over?A: After a listing ends, sellers are provided with the buyer’s Paypal address they provided on registration. They are instructed to contact the buyer to confirm the final amount and invoice the buyer. Once the buyer pays the invoice, the seller ships the item and the transaction is complete. Lacemarket highly discourages any transaction where payments are made as a personal gift for both the buyer and seller’s protections.

Wow, okay, so now I'm wondering how many buyers are this bothered by followup messages. I always send two messages: a confirmation message with the total when I invoice and a message with tracking information when I ship the package. When I confirm, I do say thanks for buying, and mention when the package is expected to ship. You may call it "frivolous," but it's seriously just a formality, since most buyers do need this kind of communication for ease of mind. Plus honestly I'd like to cover my ass in case they don't get the PayPal notification email for whatever reason (this has happened more than once). I don't care if you don't respond, but I can't read your mind, so I don't know that I'm pissing you off if I do this. Maybe just write in your bio to never message you if you hate it so much?

I sell on Etsy, LM, and eBay. I sometimes never send messages to the buyer, depending on the platform and thing go smoothly.

If I get too many messages, it's the sign of a problem customer to me.
>I want this packaged this way in this kind of bag
>When is it coming?
>Can you do this, and this, and this...
The squeaky wheel may think it gets the oil, but they're a red flag because they're also vocal complainers. If things don't go exactly like they want, they leave poor feedback in my experience. The best customers I have are like ghosts who silently leave me good feedback.

I've turned down people for sales if they assault me with too many messages or requests before a buy. You didn't buy anything, I don't owe you anything, and I don't feel the need to cater to someone like I'm some hotel front desk. I have a description with all the info you need. Read it.

scalping is not always scamming. If you buy a dress that was priced more than usual, there's no one to blame but yourself. Also I've gotten brand dresses for less than 100 and the quality has been godlike, it's rare, but it's not impossible. Sometimes the stains are super easy to get out.
While you can think it's bad that lor is using her e-fame to sell things quicker & priced up a bit, I think most people here would do the same. In the end it's the buyers fault for falling for it. Also I think everyones tried to sell a dress soon after getting it- Sometimes it arrives and you realise it doesn't suit you well & you don't really like it. I don't see anything wrong with what she's doing.

They did come in person to a swap meet but it was really weird, they did wear Lolita but they wore a mask the whole time and nobody wanted to sell to them bc obviously they were just going to re sell it on LM or eBay. Thanks for mentioning this. I sold to her once too and thinking back on it annoys me for minor reasons, although nothing exactly horrible happened. She left a comment on my listing with an arbitrary sounding request about how to package it, then went ahead and bought it before I had a chance to tell her whether or not I could do it. Communication was spotty and I had to chase her down to ask her if she was okay with an alternative. She was also kind of rude, possibly ESL but who knows. A really long time afterwards, she left kind of nitpicky feedback without letting me know she apparently had a problem.

I guess it went fine for me overall but I'm glad I'm not the only one who got shitty buyer vibes from her.

Go through dresses the seller is selling, look for the same thing in completed auctions under advanced search and you can see who got those dresses for what price, if the seller of a cameo window (purely hypothetical example) bought the same cut and color cameo window on LM for $100 less, I would argue they're clearly a scalper unless the first one was damaged or something and the second is good condition
